Barcello will be an Oakland Soldier.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Wonder if they mean ASU. Haven't heard a word about Preston. ESPN doesn't even show that we've offered him.dmjcat wrote:Billy Preston, #7 player in 2017 class considered an AZ lean according to this article:

Arizona Working Hardest for Billy Preston

SUWANEE, Ga.- Billy Preston is the real deal.
The No.-9 ranked player in the Class of 2017 according to 247Sports.com, the 6-foot-9 Preston is one of the most versatile players in the nation.
Playing on the same team as other high level talent like Terrance Ferguson, Mark Vital and Skylar Mays on MWA Elite, Preston says that it's been a good experience thusfar.
"It's really competitive," Preston told SNY.tv. "I didn't know it was going to be this competitive, coming from the Adidas Circuit, but it was a new thing for me. I'm a competitive person though, so I like it."
At times on Thursday, the junior from Prime Prep could be seen bringing the ball up the floor with ease, which is rare for a player his size.
"Just trying to show that I'm a team player," Preston said. "I'm trying to show that I can be versatile on the court, and bring a lot of different things to the game."
Playing in front of Arizona's Sean Miller and multiple other high major schools, Preston says that he does notice the coaches, but he feels like it is expected in July.
"Yes, most definitely," Preston said. "It's the live period, so I was expecting that. I'm just trying to go out there and play my game. I have to maintain that because there are coaches there."
When he was asked if any schools have been working hard than others, Preston did say one in particular has offered and has been showing more interest than anyone else.
"After this year, I think a lot of schools will start to press hard," Preston said. "Arizona is showing a lot of interest, but besides that, everyone is about the same."
Preston currently has offers from Arizona, Kansas, UConn, SMU, UCLA, Oregon, USC, Arizona State, Baylor and Utah.

Re: 2017 Recruiting Class
From what I recall the worry with him is off the court, and I don't know details. He's a great talent though.
Re: 2017 Recruiting Class
The other 2017 thread (R.I.P.) noted that Preston is not happening.
Had some links to guys who are on the radar. Maybe Spiff can repost.

97 is a good guy, so if this is a bad repost, tell me and I will pull it. Here are mixtapes for the prospects other than Preston that I'd posted elsewhere.gumby wrote:The other 2017 thread (R.I.P.) noted that Preston is not happening.

Thank you for reposting the youtube links. Was looking for these.
Re: 2017 Recruiting Class
Same---thanks SS.
Troy Brown. What a package of skills in a 6 5/6 body! Should be golden at 1-3, but actually looks to be a true PG.
The skills, high character, top grades and a terrific family. Hope we have a decent chance at him. I can see where Duke and Cal might start out on top, but selecting a mentor like Coach Sean Miller looks like exactly the right choice.
Ray Smith and Simon are close to Troy, and the Red/Blue visit apparently went really well.
97, am I close to the mark in seeing so much in Troy's game and character? Think we could land him?

Brown reminds me of Michael Carter-Williams, but hopefully with a J and a bit more D.
