I was more getting to the point that Jackson and Rabb are nowhere near the same level of impact players. One is in a different stratosphere from the other.
Re: Josh Jackson
You might be goofing but I legit also had a dream last night that JJ announced to MSU haha. Just a brief vision of him at a press conference with green everywhere. Was coming in here to post that. I was gonna word it as a nightmare though.Spaceman Spiff wrote:Last night, I had a dream that he committed to MSU. Can we add that to the crystal ball projections?

Actually, I wasn't joking. Mine didn't have the detail of yours, but it was in the context of going through a really bad day, part of which was getting news that JJ committed to MSU.pokinmik wrote:You might be goofing but I legit also had a dream last night that JJ announced to MSU haha. Jackson played for Arizona Coach Sean Miller in the USA Basketball junior program.
“I think he’s a great guy, great coach,” Jackson said. “And I love his style of play. Their teams are always good. He’s a great recruiter — he knows how to recruit guys.
“I had a couple of heart-to-heart moments with Coach Miller (with Team USA). We’re kind of close.”

Re: Josh Jackson
We all do. But you know if he gets that first round grade (which at this pace is 100% going to happen) he's gone. I just see it in his fucking eyes and it sucks because with him and JJ next year we might be the preseason #197cats wrote:and Allonzo Trier to stay for a second season -- I pray and pray and pray
Re: Josh Jackson
don't forget Smith who is the missing link this yr between top 15 and top 5 -- and it will take a top 15 grade (which is entirely possible) for Trier to bounce.

I will be shocked if Trier is lottery pick material after this season.
I have been shocked before, though.
I have been shocked before, though.
Re: Josh Jackson
I hope that's true because top 15 will be much tougher for Zo to get than top 30 since he is certainly a bit undersized. You don't think he'd leave if he felt he would definitely get drafted in the first round? Especially, if we got JJ, knowing that he wouldn't be the alpha dog next year either?97cats wrote:don't forget Smith who is the missing link this yr between top 15 and top 5 -- and it will take a top 15 grade (which is entirely possible) for Trier to bounce.

The Wildcats will now have their best opportunity to impress Jackson, who is currently on campus for an official visit and will be in attendance for Saturday night's game against UNLV.
"Coach Miller, he’s a great coach," Jackson previously told Scout.com. "Obviously I’ve been able to play under him at USA Basketball. He coached me.
"I think he’s a great guy and a great coach. I love his style of play. Their teams are always good. He’s a great recruiter and he knows how to recruit guys."
Jackson and Miller have developed a strong relationship due in large part to both roles in USA Basketball.
"That definitely plays a factor," Jackson said. "I think probably any coach I would play with and just to have that one on one time with. I had a couple heart to heart moments with him, Coach Miller, so we are kind of close."

Re: Josh Jackson
If he has to be top 15 to leave after this year then I'm far from convinced Trier is a one and done. Another year where he shows he's a more willing passer in regards to finding a better shot along with more consistency on his own jumper would do wonders for him.
Great to hear about Jackson.

Re: Josh Jackson
People freaking out about Trier leaving after this year: Dude is a great talent, but i wouldnt sweat it unless 1) his consistency greatly improves as the season goes on, or 2) his mind is made up that he is willing to leave if he is in the 24-30 range. He is not a lottery pick right now, not even close.

Trier still has some work to do if he wants to be in the '16 lottery, but he's shown over the last few weeks why he was rated so highly out of HS. He's a future NBA starter.

Arizona basketball: Jackson enjoys visit, but obstacles remain
8 hours ago • By Bruce Pascoe
Josh Jackson sat near the Arizona bench in the McKale Center stands on Saturday night wearing a sweater with the word “I’MMA” written boldly across the chest.
It was fairly obvious how many folks around him would like the (arguably) No. 1 player in the high school class of 2016 to make a sentence out of it.
As in, “I’MMA be an Arizona Wildcat.”
Jackson signed autographs for fans and took pictures with others, all while taking in the Wildcats’ 82-70 win over UNLV during the kind of night when McKale Center was at its best, with a sellout crowd that rose to its feet and cheered big moments or anytime the Wildcats appeared to need an energy boost.
Afterward, even the mother of UA freshman Chance Comanche, Melissa McGee, jumped into the spirit. A former Long Beach State basketball standout, McGee posted a photo of Comanche and Jackson posing together and said, “I would love to see 2016 Josh Jackson become an AZ Wildcat and play with my son next year. #special #finalfourbound.”
Maybe he will. Not only did the UA send him plenty of love Saturday but Jackson already has a strong relationship with UA coach Sean Miller, who coached him on the USA Basketball team that won the U-19 World Championships last summer.
But it won’t be easy. Jackson is still heavily considering Michigan State and Kansas, plus, in what could be the biggest wild card, could even spend a pro year overseas before entering the 2017 NBA draft.
Phil Doherty, the co-founder and operations director of the Prolific Prep program in Napa, California, where Jackson plays, said Jackson will likely visit Michigan State over the holidays because it is near his Detroit-area home. Jackson also told Rivals in October that Michigan State is one of his favorites because of its physical style of play.
Then there’s Kansas. Doherty said Jackson will visit the Jayhawks for their Jan. 23 game in Lawrence, where there will undoubtedly be more fans surrounding him there.
Jackson could also chuck all of it and head to China or elsewhere while waiting for the 2017 NBA draft, too. Doherty estimated Jackson could probably earn eight figures in 2016-17 between a pro deal and endorsements, though he said Jackson “wants to play college basketball.”
He’ll be something in 2016-17. But what, exactly, may not be known for months.

Ehhh. I've never been to Tucson, so that means little to me. Don't typically read articles that aren't about recruiting so it's probably just that I've never seen his good stuff and always read his bad recruiting stuff. He has pointed out the overseas thing on twitter several times before as well. I don't mind him though, he's definitely light years better than Hansen and pretty much all the local paper hacks down here.
