7 Jamar Allah and Jonathan Haden

Allah is a 6-1, 186, Senior safety from Phoenix. He started 2 games at bandit last year and played in every game as a reserve DB making 29 tackles and recovering 1 fumble. Allah will be the starting free safety this year. Jourdon Grandon locked down that position for the last 3 years, so it is going to be a little different to see someone new standing back there. Allah has played every year with this staff and will bring extensive experience in the defense to the position.

Haden is a 5-6, 181, Sophomore running back from Upper Marlboro, MD. He played in 12 games last year as a reserve receiver and on special teams. He caught 1 pass for 3 yards against Wash St. He was moved back to RB this year and is competing for the #3 spot. Haden's playing time will depend if he can grab one of the return spots or how deep we go in the running back rotation this year.

7 is the number of sacks we had against ASSu last year. The highest number of the season for Arizona.

Hoping we get to see big years from these guys. I've always had a weird pet peeve about guys that don't redshirt and don't have productive seasons (Haden and apparently Kwesi)- I'd love to see Haden find a way to maximize his eligibility.

Arizona football countdown: 7 days, Jamar Allah poised for big season with Wildcats
Ever since the start of spring, when Allah made the switch from No. 27 to No. 7, he has been getting the praise of Rich Rodriguez, as well as the various defensive coaches.

Allah is just one piece of a secondary that has impressed in fall camp, which he attributes to improved communication.

"We just trust each other, and that's led to us being progressively better," Allah told me last week.

With 7 carries and 4 receptions combined for 2 years it's pretty easy to see the writing on the wall. With Wilson and Bradford returning he will again be fighting for the 3rd spot.

Maybe we should have tried him at corner, he has some pretty good bloodlines at that position.

Heard there were several players that went to RR about playing time and may transfer. He may not be the only one

I know they were talking about Denson moving to offense but that was before the staff changes if I remember right. I wonder if Williams and Yates want him to stay at CB.
