Feel like that's an upgrade for them in a big way.

It's too bad Jason Gardner hasn't had more immediate success at IUPUI. I think he'd fit in well at Valpo.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

It's trading a middle aged coach nobody really liked for a young guy people can get excited about. It's basically what ASU did except Sendek never had the personality issues Stallings did.

Oh Sendek had personality issues. But they were more of the "sad trombone" variety...

That pic never gets old. Dumpiest place at MGM (or Bellagio?) to get a bite. Beats me why Sendek didn't just stick with Room Service & some trashy Bravo channel marathon.

Every time I see that picture, I see Lute Olson eating lunch, before I realize Herb is the main attraction.

I wonder how that deal is going to go down. You don't just walk away from four years (?) no mitigation of damages contracts.

I wonder if Memphis will have to pay out a year (or even two) on the old contract. A sort of "go away" deal.

Does the Memphis AD have pictures of the Georgia Tech AD naked with a farm animal and a giant plate of cocaine?

For Memphis? They have to be looking for someone with head coaching experience, right?

I have to image they're still drunk on crazy happiness that GT saved them from years of being too poor to afford to not have their program have a lame duck sitting inside a dumpster fire.

If typical human behavior holds, and it usually does, they will want to hire someone with experience and will end up getting an old hand who's experienced but isn't highly though of.

Then after four years of that they will fire him and look for some up and comer.

Who they will then fire and look for someone with experience.

You're on the right track. Don't forget the setting of it all, which was Rick Petino's unofficial team harem.

I've always hoped an opposing team would play "Scenes From an Italian Restaurant" after Pitino gets introduced. I don't think you'd need to have it on for more than 15 seconds to get your point across.

He is 64 with 557 wins so I would say no. Even if he coached until he was 70, he would need over 23 wins a year. His teams have only hit that number 1 time in the last 11 years.

Tubby had 17 straight 20+ win seasons at one point.

Never made it with Texas Tech, and last one was with Minnesota 2012/3.

Allegedly his contract relieves him of the buyout if he goes to Texas or Texas Tech.

Hahaha no kidding? Either way the buyout is $1 million, not like we're talking about a lot of cash for Tech to fork over.

A Job for Cuonzo by Ain Godneau Kontrakt

This book describes how UNLV finally provided a landing spot for Cuonzo Martin after a mid-level state university in a town in the Texas panhandle not far from the border of New Mexico was too much to hope for.

Cuonzo might actually have the "skills" to resurrect the UNLV program.

Gotta be Price. Gets taken down by a strip club visit and corresponding odd $1000 room charge as an almost 60 year old dude?

That's a hundred times better than just running home after four days (or whatever it was).
