And I thought Arizona had a weird font on the jerseys.
And seriously, gradient sleeves too?

That looks like the base layer, not the actual uniforms.Merkin wrote:And I thought Arizona had a weird font on the jerseys.

I'm not sure I like all (insert color) uniforms except maybe road setups like Auburn, Tennessee, Navy etc. The helmet being a different color helps a bit.

Absolutely. Love everything about those unis. The readable letters in our colors. The big A on the helmet. The helmet stripes. The sleeve stripes.
And the blue ones were even better.

Re: 2014 uniforms
These were the best uniforms we've ever had. I think with uniforms you need to have an identity. These uniforms were bold and gave us a brand. The block A was bold and prominent and the uniforms had a very tough and traditional look to them. As it is now, a kid, let's say in Illinois, who may not the biggest college football, has no clue who we are if he turns on ESPN until he hears it or looks at a score. We need a look that once you see it you know "that is Arizona".Chicat wrote:Absolutely. Love everything about those unis. The readable letters in our colors. The big A on the helmet. You can't even tell it's the block A with the red and blue helmets on TV. It just looks like a smudge. And for the LOVE OF GOD - get rid of the rainbow FUBU type numbers! It's like whoever designed them did it as a joke to see if we'd where them.
Re: 2014 uniforms
To the above post which was nicely written, I'd like to add one thing: This was back when one uniform was the only option. Today, the only thing that matters is the number of options in uniforms.
We have fucking copper helmets now. And rainbows around our shoulders.
There is no going back to the "good old days". When you wish for those you are instantaneously "the old guy".

Re: 2014 uniforms
Those uniforms were great but they were the opposite of a brand or look. They have the same look as any other college uniforms from the 60s through the 90s. They aren't unique in the slightest since everyone's uniforms were some variation of that.boat343 wrote:These were the best uniforms we've ever had. Re: 2014 uniforms
I'm a huge fan of the old white/blue/white look with the block numbers.
That said, the blue bloods like Alabama who can stay with the traditional look and they'll do fine, but we're having to compete a lot more for recruits. Last year when Oregon came to town there were local kids showing up in Duck gear. (I was even asked by a local where in the stadium Oregon's fans were sitting so that he could buy a ticket nearby because "my son thinks Oregon's cool.") We may not be big fans of the new unis but the recruits seem to love 'em. If we're competing with programs like Oregon in our own town for the fandom of the kids that live here, we're going to have to roll with the times.

Re: 2014 uniforms
It will absolutely never happen. It's all about impressing the kids and the kids do not like those old time uniforms. Re: 2014 uniforms
Old school plain tough looking jerseys are now unique. No rainbow brite sleeves. No crazy flag mashups on the helmet. No wings. No off-set color combinations that aren't even the school colors.
Those old Bruschi era uniforms were America. Now we might as well be France...

Re: 2014 uniforms
NYCat, I liked those a lot. My only complaint was the stripes not being solid all the way to the top of the pants, which is obviously piddly shit in comparison to everything I dislike about our current look.
I think we should all come to grips with the fact that we will never win an NCAA championship in our current uniforms. The Football Gods will not allow it.

agree. of the dozen or so years i've been a fan, those uniforms there we had in like 09-11 i think it was were the best ones.NYCat wrote:Even though the old ones were good what was wrong with the late Stoops era ones... Hate you Rich rod or whoever gave us craptastic uniforms.

Re: 2014 uniforms
I like those as well. IMHO they only had 2 small (tiny) faults: the stripe fade and the A is too small.

Re: 2014 uniforms
I didn't like the leg stripe on these because it was a partial, but jesus christ, I'd love these back now compared to the shit we have. Our current uniforms are horrific.NYCat wrote:Even though the old ones were good what was wrong with the late Stoops era ones... Hate you Rich rod or whoever gave us craptastic uniforms.

I'd love the above uniforms without the gloss helmet look. I'd love the blue, red, white and copper helmets with a powder effect on them, more of a flat matte look I guess. Kinda like this:
But obviously with our colors. I can even live without the stripe on the helmet if we lose the gloss.
Right now our uniforms are so horrifically bad. Hard to believe those are even our colors. Pink and Purple??? Jesus...

Re: 2014 uniforms
I hate that the Dolphins basically removed orange from their uniforms.
With ours, the number font is my problem. I don't have a huge issue with the gradient like some, but going back to the 2012 font would be a big positive. The gradient isn't an issue on any home uniform, and although I'd prefer a solid color on the road, it doesn't kill it for me.

Have we ever worn R/R/W since we went to the block A? We didn't have red helmets prior to the ASU game 2 years back and I don't remember us wearing that since.

What was the deal last week with the move back to faded numbers? I thought that wasn't allowed anymore.

Yeah, I didn't think we had. We haven't had the red helmets for very long and I think we've never even integrated the white. I like this look better than the solid color, although I still wish we'd add stripes to the red and blue helmets.ASUHATER! wrote:Not sure when it was updated last but according to this site we've never worn red red whiteSpaceman Spiff wrote:Have we ever worn R/R/W since we went to the block A? Problem is there's no white in the lid or shirt. So the pants don't really belong. Now if there was some white piping on the numbers...

It is embarrassing how close we look like Syracuse. In all our uniforms.
Seriously, we gotta make a change. It's like the same moron did both color schemes.

I thought the exact same thing when I saw their uniforms. I want the font upgraded on ours and then fix everything else.

Same helmet as last year vs. UO.
Why do some helmets have the bowling ball holes?
Too bad the helmet polishers abandoned their blog, use to get some good tidbits: http://azwildcatequipment.blogspot.com/

By day glow you mean our school color? You guys do realize that our uniforms are matched precisely to the color codes that we've copyrighted right? They do that on purpose...so the blue and red in our uniforms exactly match what our marketing and trademark departments specify what is our colors...
They don't just go to Nike and tell them to pick whatever colors they want.
