I just thought up a restaurant concept for the Trump brand. It's really expensive, and they take you and your family or clients back into the kitchen and start barking orders at you as you try to keep up with the peeling, chopping, searing, seasoning, and plating of a sequence of items. It's a complete disaster until the chef says, "Ha ha! Just kidding!" and then presents you with a gorgeously prepared feast, and hands off the mess you made to some group of homeless people huddled around the back door as you sit down to dine luxuriously.

We're making the same thing we always make on New years Eve. I don't know what you call it though. It has beef kielbasa sausage, egg white noodles, cabbage, and onions all cooked in a big pot. Good stuff.

That sounds like a recipe I'd like.

I love my wife but sometimes I really wish she wasnt vegetarian, or that I cared more about such things in my 20s.

Making that dish would be table for one in my household. (Fortunately my daughter loves hamburgers and salmon, so there is hope for me having a culinary partner in crime in a few years as her palette rounds out.)

Bacon wrapped pork loin, au gratin potatoes, green beans, salad.

My kids ate the shit out of everything except the green beans of course.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

I like to boil them just for a minute and then put them in ice water, then Sautee with half butter half olive oil with shallots, salt and pepper.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

i'll just go with fuck asu.

I made parmesan panko crusted salmon and zucchini noodles (zoodles).

My kids are assholes and refused to eat it. I thought it was delicious so fuck them.

I slow-roasted a 9 pound pork shoulder roast on Saturday. It set me back $25 including tax. It's been the gift that keeps on giving.

Saturday: Danish pork roast with crackling, Danish caramelized potatoes, Danish braised cabbage and apples

Sunday: Pork roast sandwiches with Montamore cheese and claytonia

Monday: Pork crackling bucatini all'amatriciana, claytonia salad with olive oil and balsamic

Tomorrow: Philadelphia roasted pork, provolone, and broccoli raab sandwiches

Day after tomorrow: The rest of the pork crackling amatriciana

I didn't cave. They probably went to bed pretty hungry. Oh well, maybe next time they'll eat.

Salmon was the dinner rejected by my sister's 7 year-old kids that ended the showdown.

"Fine, you're getting candy from now on!"

Breakfast: Two handfuls of miniature candy bars unceremoniously tossed on the table. The kids were thrilled.

Lunch: Off to school with just candy bars in their lunchboxes.

Dinner: Still more candy bars thrown onto the table.

"You don't love us anymore!" they yelled, breaking out into an uncontrolled bawl.

The next night they even ate their vegetables.

I roasted the pork using Kenji Lopez-Alt's slow method: 8 hours at 250 degrees. It's incredibly moist, succulent, and filled with roasted flavor. Possibly a couple drops of colatura d'alici would bring out all the flavors on the umami magic carpet, but it wasn't needed.

I almost made bourguignon. But decided the plain ol American pot roast with just a splash of wine at the end was better.

Made zucchini "tots" with shredded veggies, parmesan cheese, egg, panko and spices. Also made a lime/cumin/curry/cilantro aioli to go on homemade brioche buns with trader Joe's vegetable masala burgers. Topped those with some cucumber and fried onions as well. Brilliant dinner.

Wife has been baking lots of different breads from scratch lately and made this tonight. So damn good. It's challah stuffed with parmesan, spinach and mushrooms. Amazing.
