Lose this game and the pac-12 officially becomes a 2 man race
Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble!
I don't care how many he has made, Alford is the anti-Lauri, everytime he puts up a three I think its going to clank off the back of the rim

Playing only 7 players a game might be catching up the the bruins. They look tired

USC fans might have to eat their "Overrated" chat. Only reason to root for the bRuins.

While I like that UCLA is now out of the title race I certainly hope they don't nose dive the rest of the year which would water down our win a bit ( a la MSU).
Our Butler and Gonzaga losses aren't as bad since both those teams have continued to win and are ranked high in the polls.

True east coast.
It would be nice if they could do something useful for a change and get the win vs Oregon at Westwood.

Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble!
Yea I think UCLA will take that game hosting Oregon, which would help us out tremendously. Their backs are against the wall now, and that is the perfect opportunity for them to snag a signature home win prior to the madness.

Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble!
UCLA wasn't as good as they appeared in the first half of the season & they aren't as bad as they look now. Alfords squared are their main issues obviously but they won't completely tank. Too much talent.

Yeah but UCLA's main purpose has always been to take themselves down and pull us down with them.

If they do head on down the drain to mediocrity, will we see another Alford apology letter?Bear Down Vegas wrote:UCLA wasn't as good as they appeared in the first half of the season & they aren't as bad as they look now. Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble!
uCla is still very good on one side of the court, as long as the threes are falling. It's feast or famine...and while exciting to watch perhaps those that complain about a Miller coached team and their offenses can understand why defense is a priority to him...the shots don't always fall.

Didn't see that coming. Dang!
SC a dangerous team when they get Boatright back. Bennie-Lauri an interesting match-up.

It means if ucla was good, theyd beat Arizona and increase Arizona's chance at a 1 seed on the west. Since we are a pathetic 19-3, we have killed Arizona's chance at a good seed.PHXCATS wrote:scumdevils86 wrote:yep. it is annoying as hell.Longhorned wrote:Yeah but UCLA's main purpose has always been to take themselves down and pull us down with them.

Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble!
After UCLA went into decline, Ben Howland's mother would lay out his lucky trousers for him for game days against Arizona, and his team would come out looking All-World and beat us, and then go back to looking like garbage against everyone else, as if their only goal was pull down Arizona's resume. Steve Alford continued that pattern. So now I'm waiting for UCLA to fall into the gutter just to show everyone that Arizona's win at Pauley wasn't all that.PHXCATS wrote:scumdevils86 wrote:yep. it is annoying as hell.Longhorned wrote:Yeah but UCLA's main purpose has always been to take themselves down and pull us down with them.

Ball daddy on tmz dissing some players? Wow
Re: UCLA Basketball in trouble!
Not a shock. Watching past interviews with that clown, I'm not sure Lonzo or any of his brothers are worth that.

I don't know how to access it, but it was in his column right after we beat UCLA. Sunday's L.A. Times. I'm pretty sure it was Plaschke. It was definitely in that issue. "...by the time the game ended, the atmosphere had been demolished, the place half empty, some longtime fans having turned their backs and headed for the exits, many students fleeing up the aisles back to the dorms. The place was quiet and somber except for — and you knew this was coming — that annoying, “U of A’’ chant clanking down from the rafters." - Plashke
