Hate the "and ones". If you have to foul make sure the ball doesn't go in.

These "and one's" -- are these fouls? I'm totally unclear on why fouls are being called on these dunks.
Re: Pac-12 Tournament Game 3, vs. Oregon (2016-2017)
We are pissing this away. What the fuck is kobi doing? Guy hasnt made a jumpshot since the inauguration and hes shooting a corner 3 off a jab step?

1 offensive rebounder, 4 defensive rebounders
guess who gets it?
guess who gets it?

Subtle shove by Rawle on Bell. Weak call IMO and i think it should have been an on the floor callLonghorned wrote:Can you perceive the fouls on your screen?Merkin wrote:Hate the "and ones". If you have to foul make sure the ball doesn't go in.

It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:

And another Arizona big collects a foul.SCCats wrote:1 offensive rebounder, 4 defensive rebounders

Normally, this would be Pinder time. But my money, unfortunately, has Ristic picking up his third before half.

if brooks gets knocked to the ground like trier just did, that's not only a foul on us, but a flagrant 2

Do you want them all to have been made on Lauri and Ristic? Or are we somewhat fortunate that some got moved to a roll player?
Re: Pac-12 Tournament Game 3, vs. Oregon (2016-2017)
That was a fuckin foul on brooks lmfao

I wanted them early on Ristic and Comanche, truth be told.SCCats wrote:The way this is going these calls were going to be made one way or another.catgrad97 wrote:And another Arizona big collects a foul.SCCats wrote:1 offensive rebounder, 4 defensive rebounders

Pinder's a bench role player who was out of his element and cost us at least a bucket. Is this team peaking at the right time? A lot of immaturity evident on the floor tonight.
Re: Pac-12 Tournament Game 3, vs. Oregon (2016-2017)
Fantastic. Up 6 and Brooks has to be more tired than he usually is at the half.
Re: Pac-12 Tournament Game 3, vs. Oregon (2016-2017)
I'll take a 6 point lead into the half

35-29 at the half, Cats lead. I'll take it, even if we coulda played a little better in some spots, and boy do I really hate these refs.

Re: Pac-12 Tournament Game 3, vs. Oregon (2016-2017)
I'd argue that both Ristic and Commanche have greater value to the team in the 2nd half (especially later in the game) than Pinder does. And I like Pinder. So I'd rather he pick up 3 b.s. quick foul calls if that let's both Ristic and Commanche avoid getting a 3rd call in the 1st half.catgrad97 wrote:

I'll take it too, especially if Oregon continues to be off from three (not optimistic).SCCats wrote:Fantastic. Up 6 and Brooks has to be more tired than he usually is at the half.
Fortunately, the bigs do have a considerable amount of fouls to give. Start Lauri at the 5 and Comanche at the 4 the second half.
Re: Pac-12 Tournament Game 3, vs. Oregon (2016-2017)
Im not sure I agree. Oregon is defending their asses off, Lauri has been a nonfactor offensively most of the half and we willed a halftime lead. We could be up more, but this is going to be a grind for both teamscatgrad97 wrote:I wanted them early on Ristic and Comanche, truth be told.SCCats wrote:The way this is going these calls were going to be made one way or another.catgrad97 wrote:And another Arizona big collects a foul.SCCats wrote:1 offensive rebounder, 4 defensive rebounders

I hope they stay cold from 3 or the second half could go poorly
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.
i'll just go with fuck asu.

Re: Pac-12 Tournament Game 3, vs. Oregon (2016-2017)
I just hate that we have to argue about starting a player in our conference championship game based on the presumption that our conference's refs are going to screw the player on at least three cheap calls.PieceOfMeat wrote:I'd argue that both Ristic and Commanche have greater value to the team in the 2nd half (especially later in the game) than Pinder does. This shit really needs to stop. Walton still thinks the Pinder start was because of Boucher's injury, for some reason. It wasn't.
Re: Pac-12 Tournament Game 3, vs. Oregon (2016-2017)
Lauri got the Cats off to a good early start tonight exploiting high-low mismatches. Those won't be there in the second half. Still, he needs to continue to assert himself in the high post and not settle for just jumpers for the Cats to maintain control.rgdeuce wrote:Im not sure I agree. They arent missing wide open looks. Our D deserves a lot of credit that half. Guys like Lauri and Chief are switching on guards and doing a great job. Brooks is working his ass off for those points and will run out of gas if they dont start hitting some contested shots.
Re: Pac-12 Tournament Game 3, vs. Oregon (2016-2017)
That's what I saw. I know Brooks must be very fit and have tons of energy, but that half had to suck a little bit as far as energy expended.rgdeuce wrote: Brooks is working his ass off for those points and will run out of gas if they dont start hitting some contested shots.

Anybody think Altman's halftime adjustment will be to go to zone?

I don't know, I think second-half adrenalin for this game kind of cancels out that presumed expenditure of energy on Brooks' part. We'll see.
Would love see Comanche get his...and more. And the freshmen, Kobi and Rawle, contribute SOMETHING to the stat sheet.

They made the mistake of fronting him early and Altman corrected it real quick. Nothings going to come easy for him tonight, I agree he needs to be hanging out on the interior, pick up the scraps, get a few offensive boards and get their bigs in foul troublecatgrad97 wrote:]

I think he will keep it mixed up. Without Boucher, he will worry about us killing them on the offensive glass.Longhorned wrote:Anybody think Altman's halftime adjustment will be to go to zone?

Maybe if the refs foul out Trier for "general movement in area" Oregon can take us.catgrad97 wrote:They really are. And we still lead by 12.rgdeuce wrote:These refs are a joke.
