Having seen a few I can tell you that's most definitely a funnel. It looks like a cold weather funnel which is caused by extreme temperature differences within the clouds and rarely reach the ground. Around here they form over the lake during storms in the fall when the air is cold but the lake is still warm.

yeah probably not. this hasn't been an overly warm winter in Tucson so far despite what the NOAA and NWS said in their predictions. it hasn't been that cold either. there was one week where it was in the 50s every day and another week where it was in the mid to upper 80s. other than that it has been pretty consistently in the low 60s to mid 70s for the last 3 months.

my dad's orange trees are already getting past their prime with the fruit getting old. and the buds are already starting to form again for the next round.

Temps went UP overnight about 15 degrees and we had crazy thunderstorms with so much hail in places it looked like snow.

Looks like we'll have a few more rounds of possibly severe storms with highs near 70 and then tonight they're going to dive into the thirties with snow showers all day tomorrow. This is more of an early April pattern than mid-February which I guess explains why everyone's tulips are coming up.

I'm going to enjoy the upper 60s today in Tucson. Probably will be the last we see of it until November. Forecast for the next 2 weeks is upper 80s/low 90s. That's late April/early May weather. Boo.

Flying out of San Antonio to ATL and on to Johannesburg tomorrow......weather permitting. The lightshow from the storm system coming out of the gulf and spawning all the tornadoes was radically beautiful last night.

Tornadoes, flooding rains, hurricane force winds, blizzard conditions. This storm has it all.

Yesterday it felt like winter. Wind chills in the 30s and spitting rain. Warm front just passed through and now it feels like summer. Heading up into the 70s with really high humidity and severe thunderstorms.
