A day after losing the bats the girls sure found them. I wish our guys could do the same.
Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
I was hoping Candrea was going to let Floyd pitch the last inning.

Besides McQuillin, who will pitch next year?

Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
Statman seems like she'll finally get her shot at pitching next year. Two incoming freshmen are capable pitchers too in Hanah Bowen & Taylor GIlmore.MrMeow wrote:Besides McQuillin, who will pitch next year?
Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
I don't think Statman will pitch. Bowen will start out as the #2 starter and if she can't get it done, Gilmore would probably get a shot. I'm sure Candrea will probably bring in a walk-on, maybe a JC pitcher. I hope Gilmore has more success than the last pitcher to come from Colorado, Shelby Babcock.ChooChooCat wrote:Statman seems like she'll finally get her shot at pitching next year. Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
If we lose tomorrow then all Oregon has to do is sweep the worst team in the conference (Stanford) to win the conference crown. That'd be one hell of an epic collapse by our girls if it came to that.
Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
It wouldn't be an epic collapse, UCLA is one of the top teams in the country and has one of the best pitchers too. Oregon was able to get one win against the Bruins and I would not count out the Cats from taking the final game.ChooChooCat wrote:If we lose tomorrow then all Oregon has to do is sweep the worst team in the conference (Stanford) to win the conference crown. To me the most bothersome part is that we have not been competitive in either game. This does not portend well for the upper end of the post season
Waiting at the Rose Bowl patiently for the cats to arrive

Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
It's a pretty major collapse considering we came into this series with only 5 losses on a very long season and we haven't even been remotely competitive in this series so far. We were up 3 games on Oregon and now if we don't win this game today they will very likely win this conference. Losing a 3 game lead in the final series of the year is a pretty major collapse based on how we have been performing up to this point, especially offensively.Irish27 wrote:It wouldn't be an epic collapse, UCLA is one of the top teams in the country and has one of the best pitchers too. Harper has such a sweet swing. Hopefully O'Toole can keep the Bruins bats cold.MrBug708 wrote:Grand slam

Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

I laughed when I saw that happen. It reminded me when cars would be parked behind the left centerfield wall at Hillenbrand and cars would get hit by home runs.Chicat wrote:

We played a doubleheader against NMSU in Las Cruces earlier this year. We run ruled them in the first game and won the second game by 10 runs.
Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
Anyone going to the regional? What's the reentry policy? When baseball hosted I thought it was allowed. I'm here at Utah and they're telling people there's there's no reentry. Same tomorrow when there's gonna be 8 hours of games

Alyssa Palomino is day to day with a knee injury, she may miss the entire regional.
Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
The same knee she had repaired? Is it serious?ChooChooCat wrote:Alyssa Palomino is day to day with a knee injury, she may miss the entire regional.

Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
Unsure at this time, if she's day to day though it can't be that serious. Sounds like it was just a tweak. I doubt we see her at all this regional unless they absolutely need her.MrMeow wrote:The same knee she had repaired? Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
I would definitely sit Alyssa this weekend as they have enough talent to get by without her.
