Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
I say no on name alone.
Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
Very nice pick up. Wonder if they're looking into a red shirt for last year since he only played one game? Still has 2 to play with PAC12 experience and size we don't have.
Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
From what I gathered, his transfer was because his girlfriend missed him/pregnant. I'm sure it'll come out flfrom insiders later. USC fans were high on him
Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
Yeah this is a helluva score. Hopefully he gets another year, but if he has to sit out he will be a monster in 2018MrBug708 wrote:From what I gathered, his transfer was because his girlfriend missed him/pregnant. I'm sure it'll come out flfrom insiders later. USC fans were high on him
Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
I think they were high on him due to the fact they thought they had a sleeper pick discovered more than anything else.

Heh.
Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
he was top 100 guy, 4* DT how is he a find if he was so highly ranked out of hsMrBug708 wrote:I think they were high on him due to the fact they thought they had a sleeper pick discovered more than anything else.
Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
He committed when he was an unknown and then blew up. I have no idea how he is, I'm just going by the feeling on the boards I've read over the past two years.catinfl wrote:he was top 100 guy, 4* DT how is he a find if he was so highly ranked out of hsMrBug708 wrote:I think they were high on him due to the fact they thought they had a sleeper pick discovered more than anything else.

He kind of blew up after the USC offer a bit. Arizona even looked at him pretty hard. His problem was that he was a decent TE who also played LB. It wasn't till later that he moved full time to DL. So, coaches didn't really want to take a chance until later. So, you are correct for the most part, Bug.

A lot offers. Which prospect will be interested in coming to Arizona.

Joiner....Mitchell.....Watson.
Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
Watson commits.
Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
Arizona football recruiting: 3-star OT David Watson verbally commits to Wildcats
Checking in at 6-foot-6 and 300 pounds, Watson is a large human being. Needless to say he is adding some much-needed size along the line.
"He's the kind of kid if you tell him that someone will match up well against him, he'll go out there and try to prove you wrong," Mendivil said. "He loves the competition."
I like what Watson brings to the Wildcats. He is quite fast for a human his size. He is extremely powerful and has a tenacity to his game. He has a knack for punching holes in the defense, allowing his running back to gain chunks of yards. He is still a little raw but has a large amount of upside.
Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
Arizona needs large human beings. More so on the defense line. And it would be helpful if they're halfway mobile.

Like the extra coach too. UA can finally concentrate on special teams.

I like this part.
I like this part.
There goes ASSu's recruiting model. It prevents Football Bowl Subdivision schools from hiring people close to a prospective student-athlete for a two-year period before and after the student’s anticipated and actual enrollment at the school. This provision was adopted in men’s basketball in 2010 (effective immediately, though schools may honor contracts signed before Jan. 18, 2017).
Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
2018 Bishop Gorman DE Adam Plant commits. Good pick for Arizona. Raw and needs work but good motor and good upside. Other teams will try to poach him and this is an early commit so there could be trouble.
Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
Plant comes from a proven program. Solid DL pickup for the Staff.

Wouldn't be the first time RichRod finds a diamond, gets some exposure, and takes off for a better program.
Really can't blame them, but too bad once they say "committed" they can sign.
Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
If RR has another bad year and gets fired, I think a lot our commits will get poached. I think so many were stolen last year because other coaches were telling recruits that RR was going to be gone by the end of next year. If he has a good year and gets an extension a lot of that poaching will stop.chiefzona wrote:2018 Bishop Gorman DE Adam Plant commits. Good pick for Arizona. Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
Wouldn't it be great if our staff could in turn do the same? Steal some of UCLA's and/or ASU's guys by making the valid case that their coach's days are numbered?tgrumpy2 wrote:

The coach's sporting eye black is more than enough reason to poach all that we can every year from the ruins. Hell, blow up a big picture of those fucking clowns wearing that shit and stick it on the damn walls of our recruiting offices for motivation!

Same reaction I had when the cameras zoomed in on your sideline? I was wondering if your coaching staff was going to try suit up & get in the game.MrBug708 wrote:lol..what?

Well, Mora's theatrics sure work against Rich Rod.
Mora vs Rich Rod 5-0

Added a WR from Las Vegas to the class. Happy to see the efforts in recruiting the Vegas valley.

Other offers from UNLV and Hawaii.
A commit from a position of low need, with no other offers from the P5. Tired of this.

It really doesn't matter because their still a lot of others prospects out their to get but if your going worry about a prospects with no offer of a power 5 team, Why the hell does that matter.CatsbyAZ wrote:whatisee wrote:Added a WR from Las Vegas to the class. Seriously? An offer list tells us how people think of him. This guy screams mid major talent given two terrible programs are his only offers.cordera89 wrote:It really doesn't matter because their still a lot of others prospects out their to get but if your going worry about a prospects with no offer of a power 5 team, Why the hell does that matter.CatsbyAZ wrote:whatisee wrote:Added a WR from Las Vegas to the class. Wouldn't you be more impressed with him if he chose us over Bama, USC ,Ohio St and Clemson?

Hell No I wouldn't be impress. In the end he would of choose those elite school over us.
We still have a lot of other prospect that has been offer by UA in the recruiting trail. Time will tell what this class will look like of the things we need.

I think Magloire will get drafted late. Maybe Griffey too.
Re: 2018 Recruit/Commitment Thread
None of them are going to get drafted. No point of talking about it.

And as for talking shit about a kid, look who's hiding behind that 16 year old. That's to whom I'm talking shit. Look past the kid and tell me who you see, whatisee.
