I see GA seating available for tonight. Never been but assuming that guarantees a seat?

Yeah just doesn't guarantee which seat you get of course. It's not like there's a bad seat in the house to be concerned with what seat you get though.Jefe wrote:I see GA seating available for tonight. Never been but assuming that guarantees a seat?
Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
More or less...for day games, the shaded seats are gone to season tickets, and those bleachers can get hot. But you are 200 ft from home plate and the whole game opens up to you.
Just pay attention...a ball is going to come your way. Best way to get me visibly angry at Hi Corbett is for someone down the right field line during a right hander or vice versa to start posing their kids for pictures past the netting along the stands. If you want to risk your life as an adult, whatever, but do NOT put your kid's head exposed just past the dugout open side to the hitter. Or ever, but especially then.

NMSU pitcher won the state championship with Cienega a couple years ago. She's in over her head and getting pulled.

PAC-12 is 4-0 so far.
Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
Mauga ended the 4th with a deep fly, about 3 more feet and it would have been a grand slam.
Watched the 3 games at Utah today, and Miss St was awful both days. SEC overrated as usual.

Jesus what timing for that to occur. Let's hope she doesn't become the Ray Smith of our softball team.UAEebs86 wrote:

The timing of this puts her sophmore season in jeopardy let alone her career.
Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
She'll obviously miss fall ball but she should be ready by the start of the 2018 season, which usually starts in the middle of February. If she isn't 100% by February, I would bring her slowly as the non-schedule is not as important as conference play.ALASKACAT wrote:The timing of this puts her sophomore season in jeopardy let alone her career.
Looks like Eva Watson is going to replace Alyssa, she brings a lot of speed to the line-up. The only problem is Candrea did not let her or Dotson(other center fielder) hit a lot once conference play began and those two will need to catch up fast. Watson did lead the team in hitting last year, so she is capable of getting the job done.

Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
Is Dotson a slapper too? I love Eva's speed and she's a real good slapper, but having 3 hitters at the bottom of the lineup who are pure slappers could cause problems later IMO.Irish27 wrote:She'll obviously miss fall ball but she should be ready by the start of the 2018 season, which usually starts in the middle of February. Dotson is also a slapper. Candrea said after today's game he likes how the bottom of the order has been performing.ChooChooCat wrote:Is Dotson a slapper too? Today they certainly performed no question, I'm just thinking big picture. If small ball works though I'll roll with it.Irish27 wrote:Dotson is also a slapper. Will the game be televised today (5/21), or just streamed? Does anyone know?

watching and enjoying this season. But after taryne mowatt's run a few years ago, don't know if I'll ever get that emotionally involved. What a special season she had.
formerly, UA Direct, mtzwami, SnowCat, MontanaCat. should cover every forum I've been on in the last 19 years.

Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
All 16 host teams won their regionals. Is that common?
Re: 2017 Softball Season Thread
In 2016, 2 regional hosts lost (both to P12 schools), but all 8 OKC participants were regional hosts.azgreg wrote:All 16 host teams won their regionals. Is that common?
In 2015, the 8 national seeds advanced to OKC and the top 14 all advanced to supers.
In 2014, 2 regional hosts lost (asu was one), but all 8 OKC participants were regional hosts.
In 2013, 3 regional hosts lost, but all 8 OKC participants were regional hosts.
So I guess it's not common, but shouldn't be too shocking either.
