I really believe Trier is overrated. He thinks he is all-American and doesn't realize his limitations. He always seems to make bad decisions on the floor. Over dribbles, gets caught in traps. No energy on defense. Maybe he is just in a funk.

add: Too many turnovers too.

He turned the ball over too much at Atlantis too. He is not really a go-to player. I don't believe the Cats have one. At least right now.

well we have 33 more points than them, I'm guessing we are getting less opportunities.

Yeah, that's why putting Trier at PG is impossible. Not a good ball handler and actually an overrated passer. His assists are usually just dump offs.

I am hoping Alkins will be the leader. I don't see one on the team right now.

Trier is not a leader. I would say Rawle. Which is why we need him out there big time.

I don't think he's overrated but i do agree he over dribbles and shows limited effort on defense. If he can just learn to get his teammates more involved with more passing that would help. Pass to the open teammate and slash to the basket.

Pinder doesn't block out. He could be a good rebounder but I don't believe he has the IQ to know how to position himself.

Oh, yeah. The thought of him at that position makes me nauseous.

So what is the solution when we play a real team? PJC just doesn't have the size

I too am looking for the maalox at the thought of trier at point.

I'm surprised people are this negative. We got what we needed tonight, in my opinion, and looked better in the ways you'd hope to.

Let's face it: Miller knows what he's doing. Let's see what he can do with PJC.

Looks like they only want to bitch about our team. We win by 30+ but we sucked so it doesn't matter. I'm surprised no one here is a coach. I hear the pay is pretty good.

Exactly. Miller knows what he's doing. He will keep making the adjustments he needs to. We could win the NC and we'll still have some people who said we had the easiest path. Good Lord.

Yeah. You can't erase last week in one game. We controlled the game all night and rolled. There weren't any UMBC fits and starts. You aren't going to be the 97 Bulls overnight. It is a building process and we did some building tonight.

Yes, you need all the reps you can get. Why waste possessions? Real game opportunities are much more valuable than practice scrimmages.

We're not really greatly more negative than Miller; just listen to his post-game criticisms. We are supposed to be excellent against opponents like LBSU, and even with a 30+ margin there are obvious things we need to work on that threaten to come back to hurt us against the coming opponents. Basically none of us thought we would be searching for a base level of effort and fundamental execution quite this low 7 games into the season.

This is correct and CSM nailed it in his presser. It all boils down to lack of effort. And it was obvious to see. I saw effort tonight from PJC, Lee, and even Ristic. Ristic did seem to play with more energy, especially on the board. One play I remember him move into a players face. He gave effort. If CSM benches players for lack of effort I am okay with that. You don't have to play with emotion all the time but work hard. Those who will give effort and a desire to learn should receive the PT.

Another game I managed to miss completely.

At least it was a win this time.

Although this game thread certainly isn't as happy as I would've imagined given the score.
It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:
