Plant is a 6-6, 240 Freshman defensive end from Bishop Gorman HS and Los Angeles, CA. Last year he had 52 tackles, 16 for loss, 11.5 sacks, 9 pass break-ups and 3 fumble recoveries. Here is some analysis from Brandon Combs' article at AZ Desert Swarm along with Plant's thoughts on being a wildcat:
My thoughts: Plant is underrated in my opinion. His size and speed cannot be overstated. He is also strong, able to overpower his blocker if needed, but he also knows how to use his hands to shed blocks. He was hands-down one of Gorman’s most productive linemen this season. I believe he will challenge for playing time as a true freshman.
Plant’s thoughts on becoming a Wildcat: “Being a future Wildcat is definitely a blessing. I’m very fortunate and glad I get that opportunity to play at such a prestigious university. I think he’s a great coach (Kevin Sumlin). I think he’s the perfect guy for the job.”

This sucks, by far to me the best prospect in this class as he brought size and skill to a position of great need. Didnt qualify academically...just sucks

From the comments his dad put out there it seems like they weren't sold on UA anyway. I'm guessing we were one of the few offers where he actually had a chance to qualify so he gave it a chance. The dad is blaming it on the SAT board sending the wrong score to UA. If it was truly the wrong score it seems like that issue could have been resolved pretty easily.
He liked us because we were willing to take a chance and get him in. He backed of his pledge once when some bigger names came calling. It will be interesting to see what happens now as since he would likely qualify from a JUCO he probably will have some big names coming after him
