Because they are (when properly seasoned) tasty does not mean they will put up with shyte.

When California passed the law requiring more space for egg laying chickens, the director of the poultry program here at Cal Poly told me they expect to lose 15% of chickens due to them attacking each other, up from 0%.

Chickens can be vicious when put in a stressful situation.
