This first game between Prairie view A&M and Fairleigh Dickenson is entertaining.

Nice to see Belmont get a win. Tough to see the Temple coach retire with a loss but better to have that in the Tourney then end the regular season

The Johnnies look like total shit.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Anyone notice that no player or ref is paying attention to Chris Mullins?
Guess you have to be a total out of control lunatic like Hurley to get any attention.

St. John's blew me away all year with how badly they seemed to underperform. People complain about Miller's coaching, but I'm not 100% Mullin actually has a game plan. It's like watching a pickup game with 5 dudes who just met each other.

Watching ASSU my only question is, how did we lose to these guys at home?

They looked good in the first half. They took the air out of the ball and lost all momentum. Fortunate for them that St John's is so bad.azcat49 wrote:Watching ASSU my only question is, how did we lose to these guys at home?

That ASU/SJU matchup was one heck of a CBI game.

There's nothing out of control or crazy about what Hurley does on the sidelines. It's all designed and calculated to work the refs.Chicat wrote:Anyone notice that no player or ref is paying attention to Chris Mullins?

He learned it from the best. And it clearly works. Bravo to Hurley's performance art advancing ASU past the play-in game.
Chris Mullin...he just rolls the ball out. Aspects of in-game coaching like strategy are not his things.

Murray St is really good, really smart and extremely unselfish.
Oh and Ja Morant is the complete package. He completely dominated this game and he took... 8 shots. I love it.
I'm rooting for them to go far.

Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

If the Bulls get Morant, Lauri becomes a 30+ pt/gm player.

Yea I guess but man Morant with Booker, Ayton and Jackson could almost make you forget you didn’t draft Zion.

Haha no kidding. Must be the other thread where we are talking about Dodge Caravans so I had Aston Martins on my mind (or at least in my auto correct)

Wofford can shoot the 3!
It doesn't make sense how they can have so many good 3 pt shooters and a certain blue blood team in Tucson doesn't have a single decent sharp-shooter.

You gotta admit, today was a pretty disappointing as far as the first round goes. No upsets in the real sense. The only last-second shot to win the game was NMSU's airball, following their bonehead play and 1-for-3 from the line.

Re: 2019 NCAA Tournament Game Thread
This is the same team we lost to last year, this year they are an underseeded 6 last year they were a horribly underseeded 12 or 13
We should not have lost that game, but they are legit. Makes me hope Hurley stays at asu for a while, he might hire a superior assistant and then leave and they will get really good after he leaves.

Oregon is looking really good. They play like this and they have a shot at the FF. They've been playing great though for the last month. Peaking at the right time.

Kind of hard to cheer for Mississippi State or Liberty. I dislike both schools, although Mississippi State deals more with location.
