I'll admit, my enthusiasm has waned. This past season, I watched fewer games than ever. With all due respect to our guys, the Justin Coleman Era just didn't do it for me. And even going back to the previous season, with Ayton dunking and Trier slashing, it still felt off. Those TJ/Nick Johnson teams have so far been the highpoint of the Miller era, and I've been waiting to see if we can get back there.

As a native of Detroit, which is among the worst sports cities in America during my lifetime, UofA has been my only team to consistently feel good about. And while I've repeatedly been patient with our football program, they just disappoint again and again and again. Only hoops has given us a reason to be excited from year to year.

So contrary to CST, I am far from being "over college basketball." I want to see Miller get a FF and see his haters forced to sing his praises. If the Miller Era is indeed nearing its end, I just hope it happens on our schedule, not the fucking media's. If this season comes to pass without a FF and with unmet expectations, maybe both parties (Miller and the school) decide to part ways amicably. I'd be good with that. The program can recover, and Miller will find another job. But I do hope that his first FF happens at AZ. It would be a really tough pill to see him climb that ladder and cut down the nets as coach of a different school, especially if we're closing in on a quarter century without a FF.

For me my love of Arizona Basketball starts at McKale. It is a magical place to watch a game. Anytime I get the chance to go back I step in and am immediately back in college and takes me to an awesome placeZ. But candidly there does not seem to be any of these big games driving me to go back. I remember watching Kansas and UConn play there. Remember storming the court my freshmen year against Stanford. Remember literally the riot in front of mckale for student season tickets my senior year in 2002. We went to Tucson for my bachelor party in 2010 to the Kyle fogg usc free throw game. So awesome

If I lived in Tucson I would still have tickets but the last game I went to mckale three years ago, Magic was gone a bit. It was weird

I can’t truly explain it but something feels so different now to me about college basketball.

I am excited for next year but what happens in 2020/2021?

Sorry for the ramble as done it a couple times before on college basketball. Just sad about where things are and going even outside of all this FBI shit

Dawkins could've plead guilty and saved time but they were trying to cause damage. I wouldn't be surprised if Dawkins and his defense start leaking taped/wiretaps that weren't played during trial.

Pretty sure that is against the law and if he were to do so he would have done it when he leaked the Will Wade tape. Dawkins and Haney shot their best shots and there were total duds

Other than sour grapes, no reason for that. Pretrial leaks could influence a jury pool. Now...that time has passed.

"I wasn’t there," Dawkins said. "I just got out of criminal court case for the last two months. I had no involvement with Deandre Ayton, that’s a fact. Is this real? I find it shockingly great quote from Dawkins, but temper my enjoyment because there not 400 responses to this story from AZ fans telling us how ESPN and Vitale have blocked them for trying to get them to respond to this new info. I will wait to gloat.

Cant expect Zagoria to lead with that statement but at least it managed to come out. I think UA should issue a statement about how they are committed to Miller despite the report that sent the program into a down-spiral.

I really think a simple statement from Ayton would make some noise. It would at least get covered in the phoenix area.

Was listening to Jody Oehler on my drive home. He said it best that there was a lot of smoke over the years with college bb, and that if you went looking for the smoke, you’d find a lot of it but people just disregarded it. However, with everything that’s transpired, everyone wanted there to be a fire and went looking for where the most smoke was, and unfortunately it was Arizona that everyone wanted to go after.

It's unbelievable. This report crushed Arizona more than the trial itself or FBI scandal itself or Book's arrest or Book's guilty plea. The damage from that report also set the narrative and put it out on the open and we saw what happened as 97 said in his thread. Because of said report now there's a "where there's smoke there's fire" narrative (probably deservedly so, again see 97s thread) around the whole program.

FBI wiretaps intercepted telephone conversations between Arizona coach Sean Miller and Christian Dawkins, a key figure in the FBI's investigation into college basketball corruption, in which Miller discussed paying $100,000 to ensure star freshman Deandre Ayton signed with the Wildcats, sources familiar with the government's evidence told ESPN.

According to people with knowledge of the FBI investigation, Miller and Dawkins, a runner working for ASM Sports agent Andy Miller, had multiple conversations about Ayton. When Dawkins asked Sean Miller if he should work with assistant coach Emanuel "Book" Richardson to finalize their agreement, Miller told Dawkins he should deal directly with him when it came to money, the sources said.

The telephone calls between Sean Miller and Dawkins were among 3,000 hours of conversations intercepted from Dawkins' phone by the FBI.
