That headline is bullshit (of course). It was a transcript of a tape recording where Book CLAIMS he gave $40k to get Rawle eligible. There is no document with evidence that shows anything was actually paid to anyone.

But my honest takeaway from all this is that Miller was an idiot to keep Book on staff past year 3. Apparently he just blabbed to everyone all kinds of shit that could have gotten a ton of people in trouble both with the NCAA and the law.

Unfortunately this is NOT old news......its a brand new allegation of NCAA violations. And since its in the public domain the NCAA is free to use it against us. And, of course, its a Level 1 infraction.

I'm still hoping for a slap on the wrist (Miller suspended, loss of scholarships, NCAA training for the staff) but expecting more severe sanctions including suspension from the NCAA tourney.

This is a hyperbolic reaction that needs to be quashed right now.

The media has no access to anything new.

They have access to only what has been available for 2 fucking years.

This was one of many claims that lead to a Conspiracy to Commut Fraud charge being initially brought against Book, that, upon actual investigation and not bullshitter face value, was determined to not be credible, was actually proven false by Book’s attorney’s documenting paper trails, and, as such, along with all other factors involving the Fraud charge, led to the Fraud charge being dropped against Book, and the evidence provided contributed to every player, including Rawle, being cleared by the NCAA.

If this had a shred of proof, it would have entangled a Fraud charge.

As it is, Book pleaded guilty to only the Bribery charge, and admitted all his claims of money spent on/for players was false, a narrative supported by the Feds when they dropped charges pertaining to illogical benefits and ineligibility.

This isn’t new.

It’s old.

No one. Not the Feds, NCAA, ESPiN, Yahoo, or any of you anti-Sean Miller/“self-sanction now” people can point to one piece of hard evidence that ANYONE except Book Richardson got paid to do anything.

No bank statements.
No withdrawal receipts.
No paper trail at all.

All there is is Book Richardson talking out of his ass like a two-but chump trying to impress some strangers.

I'm not even sure this makes sense on a surface level. Paid $40K to a COACH to keep someone academically eligible. How does that work? Coach teaches three classes also? This is Book raising the ante to get players and to really line his own pockets. Book was accused of one thing......taking money to steer players to agents.

Just gonna say that the media's many screw ups w/r/t this situation is enough punishment. Arizona has been slandered, fairly and unfairly, for two years now and had been singled out largely due to the Schalbach garbage.
