we're on pace for 1 point per minute played, after the first 9 minutes of play.

anyone particularly surprised by this hasn't been watching sean miller basketball over the last decade
If we just got rid of Miller maybe we’d improve from the 5th highest scoring team in the nation to the 4th? Let’s do it!
How’d we do against Baylor and Gonzaga?

for fucks sake nico what was that mile long quick 3 point brick about?
makes up for it by taking it to the rim next time down. more of that please
then he tried to go to rim and got...not fouled as he misses. meh. less shooting nico
It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:

So are we just assuming Nico's back is still bothering him? I'm not sure what else would explain this sudden change.

4 more than us, despite an historically bad shooting performance. Weird. I guess I don’t understand your premise. Or PoM’s.

St. John's has slowed down considerably. Just not as fast. But we can't produce any offense at all.

Thoroughly frustrated with the play of Jeter and Smith. Nico has taken w few bad shots, which I can forgive because he makes plays.

Good point. it's possible. Also a freshman and could just be a little slump. Just not the best time in this stretch.

This. Don't see much leadership out there. No one who seems to want to take over and score. Nico needs to just go to the hoop more.

mod edit:
please refrain from calling out our players in that manner, and refer to their play instead.

well, being down 40-26 at the half at least means we broke through that 1 point per minute pace.

we look so bad against another half decent team this year

Something has turned sour the last couple of games. It’s not just the shooting, which is just a symptom of it. I’m not smart enough to know what’s going on. I can see the appeal of pointing the finger at Miller. It’s an easy thing to do.

Aaaaaaannnnd, Smith just let his man go right by him for a last second basket. I’m so done with him. Words cannot express. If he were a freshman, ok. But a 5th year senior. Fuck!

I'm afraid any chance of a Top 4 seed and a deep NCAA run went out the door with Williams knee and Doutrives weed.

Dylan Smiths performance against the cream puffs was Fools Gold. Against decent competition he has reverted to normal

Two bigs on the floor at one time is still a defensive liability for AZ. St. Johns just works the ball around and gets a Match-Up advantage and eats us up

Nico is still having problems against athletic guards.

Hazzard is one-dimensional. When his shot isn't falling he is a liability

Green doesn't have a consistent outside shot...even when wide open.

Jeter is slow/plodding and can't finish.....even against undersized players. (He also doesn't board)

Too many holes, I'm afraid, to fix for Miller.

I also don’t understand this comment. What has been a fixture? Poor offense? Like being a top 10 KenPom offense 2 years ago, and a top 15 this year (5th highest scoring in the NCAA)? Last year, John Wooden and the Pope couldn’t have done anything with that squad.

Human brains see patterns in three repetitions. Arizona has precisely one half to turn this around, or we're looking at three shit performances that will probably be seen as a turning point for Miller.

Get a clue. That top 5 number was built up against the Pepperdines/Penns/Omahas of the world. Against better competition those offensive stats have gone off the rails.

4 more than us, despite an historically bad shooting performance. Weird. I guess I don’t understand your premise. Or PoM’s.
Did you watch that game? Couldn't buy a bucket until garbage time.
Well I was at the game. So yeah. And yet we somehow scored 80.
Yeah, they made every stop and blew us out before taking their foot off that gas. Lost to a good team at home. How do you explain this one?
There is something wrong with this team right now. That much is clear. The shots they are taking are more often than not poor shots. I can’t really diagnose the issue, beyond the obvious decline in Mannion’s positive play.
