Hmmm, Pasch and Walton. They are entertaining in blowout games, but this should be a good one and hopefully they stay on tangent.

Oregon favored by 3 at the open and the bettors have pushed it to 3.5. Not surprising given our history with Altman in Eugene

If Nico comes out tonight and leads his teammates on the floor with poise in the first half of game not at McKale, it will be the first time. Arizona needs to start the second half not down big.

6'8" top 25 recruit. He has had 3 double digit games this year and 11 blocks in 14 games. This could be what we need to sway the outcome.

You can see why the point spread is so even. While Oregon is in the top 10 in the rankings, and at home, vs our #24 ranking, the other rankings are very comparable:

Arizona vs Oregon rankings:

NCAA NET Rankings (used to determine Quadrant wins): Arizona - 13; Oregon - 15
KenPom: Arizona - 12; Oregon - 17
RPI (no longer used by NCAA): Arizona - 20; Oregon - 12

Ratings (KenPom):

Adjusted Offense (efficiency): Arizona - 13; Oregon - 7
Adjusted Defense (efficiency): Arizona 31; Oregon - 66
Tempo: Arizona - 104; Oregon -307 (remembering tempo is not a power-based metric; you could have the worst team in the country at #3 tempo)

Oregon has a couple of good wins, including beating a very good Seton Hall team. Others that are considered good may be losing some shine...such as Michigan.
And losing to UNC looks worse than it seemed at the time.

We have one "good" win...Illinois. Two really good losses to Gonzaga and Baylor, if there is such a thing cause the loss to St John's to stand out.

Oregon -3 seems right

Oregon is 10-3 ATS, Arizona is 6-7.
Oregon is 4-2 against the KenPom top 50 teams, Arizona is 1-2.

Utah didn’t look like much; just a good team (not very good or excellent).

Oregon basically looked the same. A good team? Sure.

Very good or excellent?

No.

That’s what I’d say the line is saying, if I had to guess.

I don't think we're going to win but I wouldn't be that surprised if we did. Oregon is good but obviously beatable.
