If the team doesn't show any growth once again, I'm not sure I'd give him the benefit of the doubt and extend his contract.
Could it be that we are looking for more dramatic in-season improvement because we know the kids won’t be here that long? With 3 and 4 year players we talk about how excited we are to see what they can do with another offseason of work.

That's true, but it felt like the team we saw in March was pretty much the same team we saw in November. I know we'll never know what could've happened, but the last game we won felt more like an aberration rather than progress.

Maybe a team full of kids that don't have one foot out the door already will make a difference in their willingness to want to get better. I'm sure Miller is betting on that as well.
“The reality is that the hardest games to win are over teams on their home court. Teams that don’t play those games can spin it however they want, but what they’re saying is, ‘We don’t want to lose in our non conference season.’" - Sean Miller

So we are now officially trying to pull four year guys?

Is that the “pivot” here?

So now some want to give credit for bringing the fbi, getting no results, destroying the roster and then completely pivoting (by choice or...???) to a new strategy that will nicely take three years to properly implement?

Excuses for days. Like mana from heaven.
Pivot??

I see no evidence of a "Pivot".

What I see is that we crapped out on all of the top drawer talent we were pursuing and ended up signing some less highly rated players. We might end up better off in the long run without the OAD's but I would not call this years class a pivot.

The 2020 class on the west coast was weird this year to put it nicely. That greatly impacted our recruiting for this class. If you want I can go into detail, but all you gotta do is look at the top west coast guys in this class and you can easily figure it out.

I am not sure I follow, was it due to allegiances to shoe companies? Not sure I fully get why we missed out and didn't recruit so many top guys out west. I get Mobley, Jalen Green, MarJon and Boston. I do not get not hitting on a single one of Nix, Zaire, Christopher, Askew and Puff

Nix - UnderArmour
Ziaire - We were in it, but family pushed Stanford for obvious reasons
Christopher - Was not going to pick Arizona when his bro is at ASU
Askew - He went to Kentucky dude, that's not exactly odd.
Puff - You're really going to call him a west coast guy? Ok. Do I really need to explain why he chose UNC?

In a normal world Arizona lands Marjon Beauchamp this year.

Choo, do you know why Beauchamp dropped in the rankings?

Going pro (kinda) made sense when he was a top 25/20 5* prospect early in the rankings but he's dropped to the mid 30s to high 40s since then

Honestly I stopped paying attention to him altogether when he announced his moronic decision. My guess is just some other guys behind him got better.

What I see is there’s zero value for one-and-done players for the one season that’s unlikely to take place at all.

I don't see Walton getting playing time at UNC with their recruiting class. Maybe a transfer to Minnesota after one year, and a parade of strippers?

Even for old timers, it always has been. What true basketball fanatic would not want to be part of the Tobacco Road rivalries?

UNC is his dream school. That doesn't always matter to guys (see Josh Green), but to some it does. I doubt he sticks there, but he can at least say he ended up at his dream school for a bit.

Throughout most of history, yes. But there’ve been some moments, some stretches, where we actually were among the sexiest programs. Our on-court success coupled with our track record for getting guys to the NBA made us the premier program in the West. Lute and Sean have been able to recruit nationally, drawing interest from all corners and landing elite recruits again and again.

But UNC has numerous championships, numerous all time great players, and they’ve got MJ. So, yes, they’re sexier. But they’re also coming off a really bad season by their standards. Just like us. So I’m not sure their sexiness is as strong as it has been.

That pic, and the one where Ivan Radenovic is being molested by a dude with chin nuts at a Hooters, brings back so many memories.

It’s not just the fact of the chin nuts, it’s how it hit the boards. Dude came out of nowhere and came to boast. Ivan was clearly drunk and there was no doubt he mistook the guy’s forearm for the Hooter girl’s. And then the guy had no answer when the whole board laughed him off the internet.

Baker is a Junior and Akinjo is apparently a Junior according to Scheer. So if he doesn't get a waiver to play in the fall he'll only play 1.5 years at Arizona. Jordan Brown also isn't a redshirt, he just sat out a year when he transferred.

I pretty much agree with the starters and bench. Choo thinks Kriisa starts from the get go and I somewhat agree. I think Terrell Brown will start for a bit then Kriisa takes over during conference play.

Usually there's a 7-8 man core that will play the most and only play in tight, close games. I think that 7-8 man rotation will be something like..

Akinjo
Kriisa
Mathurin
Tubelis
J. Brown

Baker
Terry
Koloko

I listed Brown as a RS just to show he’s older than a sophomore. Also I believe Baker is technically a senior. He got a waiver to play immediately when he transferred but I don’t think that waiver reinstated any extra year(s) of eligibility. I could be wrong, and I’m sure if he wanted to he could get a medical RS for one of his years at UK. This years guard rotation is hard to determine, and I don’t know how Miller is going to bump Ira Lee out of the rotation. He has to have improved and at least keep his 13 minutes from last year right?

Baker has played two years, he does not need to apply for a medical redshirt he can just use a normal redshirt for his Freshman year in which he didn't play. On the school website he was considered a RS Sophomore last year. Additionally, you are correct that Jordan Brown is a redshirt Sophomore, you need to use a redshirt in the year you sit out during a transfer.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Lee hasn't really played many crunch time minutes. With Tubelis being far better and Jordan the same but can play PF and C, I just don't see his minutes improving.

Imo you mostly make a jump from freshman to your sophomore season. Lee is who he is at this point, I don't think he can be more than a role player.

Akinjo 25/Krissa 15
Baker 20/Krissa 5/Brown 10/Terry 5
Mathurin 25/Terry 15
Tubelis 20/Brown 10/Lee 10
Brown 15/Koloko 15/Tubelis 5/Batcho 5
Groener RS
Tubelis RS

Ultimately, I think the crunch time/tournament rotation is:
Akinjo
Krissa
Baker
Mathurin
Terry
Tubelis
Brown
