THats not Gunnells fault.

When they score points equal to or greater than our total yardage, well, the math kinda sorta begins to present a real problem.

Sumlin, like RichRod, knows it's much easier to not work hard, get fired and collect, than work extremely hard, win and collect.

You would think setting a record for consecutive losses would be allowed to be fired for cause.

Sumlin's buyout amounts if fired:

2018: $10 million
2019: $10 million
2020: $5 million
2021: $3 million
2022: $1 million

Rhoades needs to stop trying to cram square pegs into round holes. He doesn't have 4 quality linebackers and he's running a 3-4 defense.

He does have some half decent DL's. I would much rather have a 315 lb Trevon Mason or a 340 lb Myles Tuposoa in a 4 man front than a 204lb
walk on linebacker. We could at least slow up the run and get a little more pressure on passing situations.

Bottom line we are starting two undersized (and slow) walk on linebackers while we have 2-3 relatively talented DL's riding the pine. It would be nice to find a coordinator who adapts his system to the players and not the other way around. We had the same issue with Tate last year. Tate was NOT a pro-style drop back passer.

I guess Washington feels so sorry for us they're just giving us a 1st down.

And our 204lb walk on LB Freeburg gets dragged 10 yards by the RB. Why are we running a 3-4 again???

Given the grotesque disparity in talent at other positions (DB/WR's) probably not. Doesn't mean that you shouldn't put your best 11 on the field.

Gunnell really doesn't have anyone outside of Brightwell. No other skill players on offense.

Besides the FCS defensive players the UA has.

No he doesn't. It would be a crime if we can't find at least 1 or 2 talented WR's for him to throw to before he graduates.

Sumlin needs to dig up a Jalen Strong type JC receiver (or transfer) in the offseason

Just watching how the Receivers/Defensive backs line up tells you all you need to know.

When the UA is on offense the opposing DB's are lining up only a few yards off the UA WR's.........because they know the UA WR's are too slow to get behind them. The UW DB's are, for the most part, towering over our small WR's

When the UA is on defense the UA DB's line up 7-10 yards off the ball.........because the UW receivers would just run right past them if they played tight And the UW receivers are often 5-6" taller than every UA DB.

At this point Gunnell just needs to let the ball go. The WR are not suddenly going to start creating more separation, got to thread the needle.

By running the receiver in motion, didn’t you just bring another defender into the box when you were going to run up middle?
