I've always liked the little fucker. I'm gonna hate his guts this season.

The usual no defense ASU. Final Four team? Hard to imagine.
Re: 2020-2021 PAC-12 game thread
They are going to struggle with teams that have size.

Saw that one coming.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?
Re: 2020-2021 PAC-12 game thread
Bruin's better clamp down on defense because they have trouble scoring. SDSU is a good team.....
Re: 2020-2021 PAC-12 game thread
ASU looks really good playing #3 Villanova
Re: 2020-2021 PAC-12 game thread
Villanova has pulled out to a 9 point lead at the half, but yes, asu looks good.
When was the last time that asu put 3 guards on the floor better than anything the UA has?? (martin/verge/christopher)
A rather depressing thought.
Re: 2020-2021 PAC-12 game thread
We all know ASUs weakness is their interior. They got absolutely destroyed in the boards last night.

Some really classic PAC-12 refereeing going on in this UCLA-Pepperdine game.

Oof, Oregon.

Play like shit now, look like the #1 team when they play us.

Stanford has a Miller-like recruiting class of freshman. 1-2 so far. Granted, against actual competition.

Meanwhile, UDub sits at 0-3 after Utah drubbed them.

The Ducks didn't score as many points against EWU as we did.

If that team had Malachi back, theyd be a FF favorite, IMO. Getting no respect coming into the season, even after manhandling UCLA. Maybe they will get some attention after locking down ASU.

Two really bad calls at the end of UW v Oregon game benefiting Oregon. UW still had a 3 point try to tie the game but missed.

What the heck, washington too?
Are we the only good win in the pac 12 again??
Such a burden being the only team that can improve your net rating by beating.
(Little bit of sarcasm, but maybe not really)

Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

I really wanted Buffy to beat the mincy trollops tonight, but pugnacious Mick's minions pulled it out.

Re: 2020-2021 PAC-12 game thread
Yeah, if the Pac-12 followed his advice, OSU wouldn't have gotten that win. I guess it doesn't matter in a rivalry game, but I'd still rather not play a team coming off a loss. It's funny, though. Some media types fall for the ASU hype machine time after time, with somebody in the pre-season predicting they'd go to the Final Four, which was as absurd then as it is now. I'd hope that hype, and the football game run-up, would motivate our team. It'll probably come down to whether ASU can just rain down long threes all night on their home court, and whether the refs call The Cognac Kid for that Little Richard hair flip every time he forces contact against a defender on what should be called an offensive foul. I generally keep the sound low, so I've never heard if he says "Owww" when he does it, but I've seen the trembling lower lip and single tear rolling down his cheek. The only other question going in is whether the Republic will report that UArizona is "short-handed" without Baker and Kriisa, regardless of the outcome.

Re: 2020-2021 PAC-12 game thread
Until ASU wins a conference championship (regular season or tournament) in the PAC-10/12, they should never be mentioned for a Final Four. They only have one Elite 8 in their history.

At this point it feels like Oregon, UCLA, SC and Colorado are the teams with the best chance to make the Tourney.

Of course oregon state beat oregon, good thing we weren't ranked or we'd have lost Thursday.
I guess it wasn't fair for oregon to come back and have to play the mighty beavers as their first game back.
