Re: (W) NCAA Championship, Arizona vs. Stanford (2020-2021)
Both teams deserved to win. Unfortunately it doesn’t work that day.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Great career Aari had here. Sad it ended the way it did but she was the reason we got this far. Adia coached her ass off with this team. Great year

Aari's gonna blame herself. Hope she has perspective and holds her head high.

I hope we as a fan base can get past the fact that it’s hard to draw up last second plays that result in easy buckets. It helps when you have Michael Jordan or Steph Curry with the ball. Otherwise it’s a crapshoot.

Too much size for Stanford.

Re: (W) NCAA Championship, Arizona vs. Stanford (2020-2021)
or that completely horseshit kicked ball they called off of us with 2:03 left that conveniently can't be reviewed.
It's long past time to bring this back to the court, let's do it with a small update:
Re: (W) NCAA Championship, Arizona vs. Stanford (2020-2021)
I am so proud of Aari tonight. She was harassed, banged, pushed around all night long. To be able to push through in the 2nd half, pull this team back, and have a shot at the end, that's incredible. Best player in America and should be the MOP (but she won't be)

Sure hope they honor her with MOP. Has it been announced?
Time for jersey retirement.
Re: (W) NCAA Championship, Arizona vs. Stanford (2020-2021)
She had to heave it and almost made it. So many chippies we missed and AAri even missed two FT’s. Our team showed great resolve and it’s so sad we came up a point short

Esp when the ref first called it for Arizona, then switched it to Stanford.PieceOfMeat wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 5:15 pmor that completely horseshit kicked ball they called off of us with 2:03 left that conveniently can't be reviewed.

This team is full of legends.
I hope as many of them come back as can (obviously excluding Aari who already declared her intentions)

Re: (W) NCAA Championship, Arizona vs. Stanford (2020-2021)
Defense was amazing. Couldn’t have played better on that end of the court. We just couldn’t make enough shots including free throws.
It happens. Great game and couldn’t be more proud of our team. And Aari wasn’t her best offensively but she gave it everything she got and no way are we even in this game without her.
Hang your heads high Ladies. Thanks for the enjoyable run.

Can all the seniors come back?
Re: (W) NCAA Championship, Arizona vs. Stanford (2020-2021)
Yes but Aari is gone which leaves Sam Thomas and Trinity Baptiste

Re: (W) NCAA Championship, Arizona vs. Stanford (2020-2021)
The kick ball was bad but free throws matter and we just missed a few too many. Loved the fight and Pellington played the game of her life and has a few years left. Sam did not play as well as normal but she gave it all on defense. Great year ladies. Be proud.
Re: (W) NCAA Championship, Arizona vs. Stanford (2020-2021)
I know the play was for Aari to take the last shot, but I wonder if Baptiste would of headed towards the basket instead of standing in the corner, would Aari of thrown her the ball? She was wide open.

Even though they lost, this was an unbelievable ride. This was the greatest team in the program's history and Aari is the greatest to ever wear a Wildcat jersey. Thank you ladies and Bear Down! Finally, would love to see Sam and Trinity come back. Pellington showed she deserves to start.

They are always going to give it to a player on the championship team. Doesn’t surprise me.

Re: (W) NCAA Championship, Arizona vs. Stanford (2020-2021)
With the size they sent at her, I'm not sure she could even make that pass. Remember, she lost the handle slightly after a couple dribbles, so I think she was stuck
Re: (W) NCAA Championship, Arizona vs. Stanford (2020-2021)
Sam Thomas didn’t score and we only got 4 pointed from Cate Reese. We also got hammered on the glass. It’s a testament to their grit and toughness that we had a shot at the end to win

Great tournament. I admit I don't usually watch the women's team but wow was that exciting. I watched it with my daughter who loved it.
Let's Adia can keep this program going. Gonna be tough to replace Aari. Do we have good recruits coming in?

Re: (W) NCAA Championship, Arizona vs. Stanford (2020-2021)
My 7 year old son watched the game with me and was crying at the end, he was so excited they were in it at the end and so sad that shot didn't go. He is also so sad that Aari isn't coming back. We also watched the game last night when suggs hit the buzzer beater, was so excited for that shot. Poor kid wears his heart on his sleeve.

So every 20 years we have (get) to go through this?
Second place.
It will sound better in a few weeks.

I highly doubt it'll take Adia 20 years to get back here.

Re: (W) NCAA Championship, Arizona vs. Stanford (2020-2021)
Stanford's bigs dominated the game on both ends. Vandever had the perfect game plan to stop us, and Stanford executed very well. Guard the three, and if we drive past, let the Trees underneath bother the shot. Hard to win when you shoot less than 30% and get outrebounded by more than a dozen, and the only reason we were in the game was our plan was just as good, and just as well executed. We needed to speed up Stanford on offense and create turnovers, then be aggressive on O and hope to get to the line. We did exactly that. Not an easy way to win a game, but we had a chance at the end, and came within an inch or two of pulling it off!
The Wildcat Ladies have nothing to be ashamed about. They fought like Wildcats and left everything they had on the court. Great team, and led by a great coach, and one of the best in McDonald to ever wear the red and blue of Arizona.
