Wow. Miller being Miller. Undeterred by administrative lunacy, he just keeps on getting things done. Love him.

I just got a text that made my stomach sink. Say goodbye to next year's team.

Before anyone freaks out... many times these things are purposely leaked for various reasons.
I have no insider info.... I just know we've seen this before.
Re: Sean Miller
If Miller knew he was going to be fired tomorrow, no way would he still be recruiting and letting Kim Aiken commit.

This is absurd. How is he closing the deal with transfers one day and being fired the next?

Man, I am just getting so fkn depressed about this whole shit show. If Miller is fired, I am done with ALL things UA (my alma mater) as long as Robbins and Heeke are here.

What’s Bobby going to do if every booster shuts the door?
Already lost Click, would lose Davises.
Bert Lopez isn’t going to throw more cash in the bucket.
RJ might take his gym back.

Re: Sean Miller
I just find it hard to believe that Miller would continue working so hard on bringing in recruits and building the team for the future if he had any inkling he was about to be fired. I mean, he would HAVE to know, wouldn't he?
Re: Sean Miller
I cannot see Robbins being that irresponsible to let him get recruits only to fire him a day later. I can see floating interest in other coaches as leverage, but the timing of all this doesn’t feel right.
Granted people can read and believe whomever they want, but I’ve read rumors for years.
Then again, Robbins didn’t consult with anyone in the FB hire and he probably feels great about the hype currently, even though no games have been played.

Here's the tweet I want from administration:
"Contrary to baseless rumors, Sean Miller is and will remain our men's basketball coach. Details on Coach Miller's contract extension will be released when appropriate."

No, personality disorders are not able to used in legal defense. My wife is a Psychiatrist who gets Mentally ill out of jails and she doesn't allow one person suffering from a personality disorder to qualify for any of her programs.

I don’t think I’ve missed a game since Snowden’s last year. I even suffered through the pain before Lute. If this is true, and this is how the president treats Coach Miller, his staff, and the kids on this team, I’m out too.

I think what makes this especially sad -- for me at least -- is seeing how some of my favorite posters here are taking this, even just anticipating it. If people actually stop following the team over this, it feels like part of AZ hoops is dying.

Re: Sean Miller
my big fear is that Robbins fires Miller without securing Lloyd, he turns us down, and we end up hiring some like Jamie Dixon-esque re-tread after a search process...feels likely to me tbh with the way this is headedUofAlum05 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 4:12 pmIts Robbins you should be emailing. This is a dark time for Arizona basketball but I'll never stop watching and cheering on my Cats.
Re: Sean Miller
I will never stop watching either but this just doesn't feel right. Thinking of these kids, excited to come back for Year 2, who sacrificed a lot this past season, and watching them be tossed aside just makes me feel sick.
Re: Sean Miller
I know you’re not addressing this to me because I never post, even though I’ve been following all you guys since CatTracks.Beachcat97 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 4:41 pmI think what makes this especially sad -- for me at least -- is seeing how some of my favorite posters here are taking this, even just anticipating it. For me it’s not about not supporting the team. I can’t support a president of the university I love a) paying an AD $750,000 to do nothing b) hiring Sumlin despite his skeletons and even though I thought Navy guy was the wrong hire, Robbins screwed him over in the process, c) when it was painfully, brutally obvious that Sumlin had to go, he let Heeke give that infamous press conference, and screwed over Navy guy again and Brennan to hire a never-has-been-a-head-coach, hasn’t held any job longer than 2 years, Jedd Fisch. Yes, Fisch hired some of my favorite Cats, and is good with Twitter. But can he coach?
So that brings us to d) stood behind Miller when Book was arrested. Stood behind him after the ESPN hit piece. Held the NOA for months with no hint of firing Miller (and probably held on to that NOA instead of releasing it because he personally is one of the aggravating factors in one of the Level One violations), waited a month after the season ended, leaving Miller, Murphy, Terry, the rest of the staff, and most importantly the kids on the team hanging, all while we have been picked 21 or higher in all the early polls so he could blow it up now because he’s high off his hire of Fisch.
It’s sickening.

Re: Sean Miller
Same here, will never stop. However, my expectations of the basketball program will be like the football program. Never a contender and turn the game off when it gets out of hand.
Unlike the Lute years, where I never expected the team to lose any game.
Cattracks! I actually have seen Brad Allis posting more on Facebook than he usually does, whatever that means.

Re: Sean Miller
I’ll add my two cents to what’s being said. I have a friend that has some good contacts and he’s being told that he doesn’t think Miller is leaving. But officially he can’t say yes or no as to what’s happening. That a lot of BS is being said but only a few people actually know what’s going on.
Fingers crossed this is accurate.

Re: Sean Miller
First of all for Robbins to fire Miller BEFORE the IARP has made any kind of ruling would probably violate legal counsels advice and at this point NO ONE KNOWS what the independent committee will do. No.One.
It's possible that Robbins might have some inkling, but we also have to remember that he and Dave Heeke were both also mentioned in the NCAA complaint...and in this case he is sorta a "co-defendant" WITH Miller...to throw him under the bus without actual legal authority would be to invite the complete destruction of the athletic department as we know it...Miller could sue the crap out of him.
So one of a handful of things are true:
1. Bunch of typical rumors, we've had them before we get them every year, they always get forgotten...no one remembers when ESPN announced Miller had been fired??????
2. Miller cheated and needs to be terminated.
3. Robbins is an idiot and trigger happy and MIGHT do it against counsel, but probably not.
4. A mix of all of the above.

Re: Sean Miller
I haven't watched a single down of UA FB since Sumlin blew the sure win against ASU (2019?). If Robbins pulls the rug out from under Miller, I will not wqatch a minute of UA BB until after Robbins and Heeke are gone. Have been a huge Wildcat BB fan since the first game at McKale. Robbins is just pissing the whole AD down the drain.
Re: Sean Miller
Apparently Robbins issues aren't related to the FBI/NOA stuff at all. Its that he feels Arizona should have been better this past season and that he likes to have people he hired in major spots throughout the University.CatFanOneMil wrote: ↑Tue Apr 06, 2021 4:58 pm First of all for Robbins to fire Miller BEFORE the IARP has made any kind of ruling would probably violate legal counsels advice and at this point NO ONE KNOWS what the independent committee will do. When does Robbins ever make sense? Any of his decisions are unlikely to have much rational thinking involved. The guy is obviously not all there and has a huge ego issue

I get that people seem to think Robbins is the devil and a lot of it is justified, but he is also accountable for some of this and to fire Miller without cause and take a HUGE financial hit to buy out his contract would essentially be a career move to "unemployed"...
He has to find cause...and since he was part of the post season ban this years performance is more or less OFF the table...legally.
I remember when this whole thing broke and Romar coached while Miller sat out there were so many seemingly justified rumors that Miller was getting canned before that Monday...we were all pretty much depressed and convinced (except for the few haters that we always have)...
I have a hard time believing this is anything more than the usual rumor miLLer that goes around at the end of EVERY SEASON...this was just prolonged because of the womans team...
So far no one has provided any evidence of anything substantial and we have Miller signing a new recruit in the last 24 hours...
I get that we're a nervous group but this is not our first rodeo here...nor will it be our last.
