Social Media is a great reminder that most people have their heads so far up their asses they need to use their bellybutton as a periscope.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

I'm trying not to melt down too aggressively on FB under my real name. People are calling for Bibby, Geary, just any alum who coached at any level.
Like how do you look at Mike Bibby being fired as a HS coach for sexual harassment and be like, oh, he'd be a great choice to replace Sean Miller?

Irish, in case I get drunk later and decide to flame Robbins and Heeke’s social media... can I use that?

Shocked, appalled, and dismayed.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Re: Sean Miller
It's silly just as a straight up evaluation. To the harassment allegation...it seems that had no legs. But regardless...that is just crazy. As is Damon...who I love. My favorite Wildcat. A classmate. Possibly an up-and-coming coach, but you have to take a low to mid level program to the tournament and win some games to be in line for this job, and even then, it might be a reach. Shaka Smart is NOW at the perfect level for his next step, if there is to be one...VCU to Texas was not it. And he did a might bit more at VCU than Damon has (so far) at pacific.Spaceman Spiff wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 5:27 pmI'm trying not to melt down too aggressively on FB under my real name. Kerr would be about the only former player I'd consider. Even with Walton, you don't have head coaching experience in college. Kerr is the same, but his successes have been far greater, and his name has both historic and current cache. Of course Kerr would be perfect...if he had any interest. Which he doesn't.
The only way canning Miller before we see what happens next season makes any sense is if a Drew/Stevens/Few level guy was lined up. And that ain't happening, despite my cricket-chirp-inducing joke post about Drew 10 chapters back in this thread.
So we are fucked. For no reason. Either you dismiss Miller in 2019 or you give him until 2022. This makes no business sense, no logical sense, and if Sean was willing to run it back next year to audition, what the fuck was there to lose? (That also ends the "blame ABOR" noise). Unless you had a slam dunk.

Awful. 2nd Pfizer shot when COVID positive-evel awful (sorry...bad joke. That happened to a friend tho. A doctor. Got really sick...nothing more, just miserable for a few days).
Just...THE TIMING MAKES ZERO SENSE IF SEAN WAS WILLING TO COACH 21-22!!!

Re: Sean Miller
I pledged to withdraw any financial or moral support for Arizona Athletics, pledged allegiance to ASU, called Robbins and Heeke some bad things, predicted years of struggle and decided to devote more of my life to family and far less to sports. That was within about 3 minutes this morning.
I'm now mainly just serious that I'm done supporting Arizona Athletics and hope Robbins and Heeke get fired as soon as possible. Thinking about donating my Arizona gear to charity in lieu of straight burning it.
You?

Re: Sean Miller
In my 2 hours of just losing my shit this morning, I got the mailing address for Robbins and planned on sending him a bunch of my recent hoops memorabilia with a note asking him to torch it like he did the Miller era. Not withdrawing completely...this is MY fucking school, not his. But i wanted to send a clear message.Spaceman Spiff wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 5:54 pm

I sat next to that guy on a few occasions while the state schools were wooing my kid as part of an academic scholarship finalist group. Talked hoops...early 2019. He showed some frustration with Sean's demeanor on the sidelines, but otherwise supported him. I wish he...umm, i mean Heeke, had just fired Sean then...

Oh brother. That'll be a nervous few days. Given the Fisch hire, I just don't expect these clowns to hire someone with AZ ties. Also, none of the names in the mix with AZ ties are all that attractive.ChooChooCat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 6:01 pmJosh will get a courtesy interview if that makes you upset.Beachcat97 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 07, 2021 6:00 pmI mean, it could be worse. Re: Sean Miller
I'm concerned with the competence that is being shown by this current administration and that they have the authority to hire what is probably the most important position on the U of A campus. I listen to Heeke's conference and he could not even articulate the basis of the decision other than to say it was the totality of the results. What the F does that mean? I worked in Corp. America for a long time in a fairly senior position and that is what division heads or COO said when they had no idea how to answer a question. We will call it AD speak.
There was no articulation of the plan to retain recruits that are on board other then Dave saying we will get a top notch coach. He also said it is 24/7 till then and then confirmed we will hire a search firm. Huh? A search firm has a list of names they go to. First the untouchables to prove due diligence, then the proven commodities that might have an interest but likely happy where they are, the ladder climbers just looking for more money and then the unproven young guns (feast or famine) and then the noble assistance that are the hidden backbones of the program yada yada yada that were given outstanding recommendations by known head coaches, They have just added the alumni group thanks to Howard success. They have no observation on their own, nothing that experience shows them. They hide behind a search firm to limit their own culpability. What do we pay an AD for? Look at Ced Dempsey. He made the coaching selections, he own the decision and backed it up win or lose.
Other than that I'm good.

Anybody check out Austin Miller’s tweet to AD Robbins. He pretty much said what we all feel. Numbers don’t match the action and Robbins has his hands where they shouldn’t be

For what it’s worth Robbins is hated on campus and it has nothing to do with sports.
I recall Longhorned and BJBJ stating the same thing, from first hand experience.
