I know there were rumor's about Ben... but no one on AZ has officially announced they are transferring yet... correct?
It seems like they are at least waiting to hear what we are doing and maybe talk to our HC?

I think its a great sign that no one "rage quit" and just entered the transfer portal.Alieberman wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 1:39 pm I know there were rumor's about Ben... but no one on AZ has officially announced they are transferring yet... correct?

Re: Tommy Lloyd
They know as well as we do that they are going to be good this year if they all stick around. They have a chance to start a new chapter in this program on a positive note.
There will be a lot of media chatter swirling around the pac 12 this year with how the league overperformed in the postseason and around arizona with a new coach. If you are looking to get noticed, it might not be a bad place to be.

Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

this is taking way too long...
Re: Tommy Lloyd
It hasn’t even been a week yet........
This is going to end up being a light-speed “official” search. Hiring a guy in under 5 business days.

Re: Tommy Lloyd
I never saw Choo say that about Monday, but Scheer has.
But...I’m also reading that it could spill into mid-week. Not necessarily because one side is getting cold feet but because they’re just working out details of the contract. My best guess: Tuesday at the latest. If we get to Thursday, we’re probably looking at Coach Stoudamire.

The moment he wants to sign a contract ya gotta get it done immediately.

Seriously though this has no business going beyond Monday unless the alums have influenced Robbins (would be highly uncharacteristic of Robbins) or shit fell through in the 12th hour with Lloyd (this has been done for a long time).

They need to just make if official already. Worst kept secret ever. Almost everyone knows who it is. Announce it or allow the mainstream media to announce it. Hurry up now Robbins

Mystery candidate being whispered about now. Even if we somehow end up with a quality coach this entire process has been a complete failboat.
Re: Tommy Lloyd
I can't believe this. This is really bad for so many reasons. This guy has no business being involved in College Athletics.

Another fucking mystery candidate?
At least Robbins is consistent.
Consistently an asshole.

Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Mystery candidate for the win! At least I know who isn’t going to be the next coach, the guys who we have already heard about. Just another cluster fuck.

Re: Tommy Lloyd
What in the hell is going on here??!!
Is the mystery who the candidate is, or what he has done to be considered qualified for the position, or both.
Are we getting Pitino's assistant from Lithuania?
Does bobby have some connection with Putin?
Maybe we are getting John Beilein!!!!!!

At this point I won't be surprised if we hire some like 27 year old assistant coach from a MEAC school because his dad is golf buddies with Robbins.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

Re: Tommy Lloyd
I'm going to be honest, there are people on this site who have said that Lloyd was all but officially hired...that it was in the bag and would probably be announced on Monday...now am I reading this correctly that Lloyd is possibly NOT coming?
Either we have bad sources or a really bad Prez or both...
If it WAS in the bag and Robbins or Heeke screwed the pooch then hopefully we end up putting one or both of those asshats on the chopping block...because frankly f**king up something that was greased and ready to go regarding the Mens BB program is worse than Michael kissing Fredo and telling him "You broke my heart"...its just a matter of time.
