Pac-12 releases weekend pairings
3 hours ago • By Bruce Pascoe
The Pac-12 announced the weekly pairings for Arizona next season, all but completing the Wildcats' 2014-15 schedule.
The exact dates and times are yet to be determined -- TV will wrestle over them until probably September -- but this is enough to give a good idea of when the Wildcats will be at home and away.
Usually, the games will be played between Wednesday and Sunday of a given week, though Mondays and Tuesdays are also possible. Also, the order listed below does not imply which teams will be played first during a particular week-- that, too, is still to be determined.
Because of the Pac-12's unbalanced schedule, the Wildcats will play the Southern California and Washington schools only once again next season, but will flip-flop the venues, getting UCLA and USC at McKale and Washington and WSU on the road.
Here's the entire schedule as it looks now:
Oct. 18 (tentative) RED-BLUE GAME (scrimmage)
Nov. 9 CAL POLY POMONA (exhibition)
Nov. 14 MOUNT ST. MARY’S
Nov. 16 CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE (Maui Invitational opening game)
Nov. 19 UC IRVINE
Nov. 24-26 at Maui Invitational, Lahaina, Hawaii (fixed bracket TBA, three games, participating teams: Arizona, BYU, Chaminade, Kansas State, Missouri, Pittsburgh, Purdue and San Diego State)
Dec. 2 GARDNER-WEBB

Thanks for posting this. This is about as good as it gets for now.
Re: Arizona Wildcats basketball: Hoops Schedule
I'm seeing a 16-2 conference record.

No reason not to be undefeated in conference next year, the rest of the league is in shambles.
Re: Arizona Wildcats basketball: Hoops Schedule
I would have more confidence in that if it had happened before. The league has been worse and Arizona still managed to drop 1 game somewhere.teemackdee wrote:No reason not to be undefeated in conference next year, the rest of the league is in shambles.

Yep. There always manages to be another Adam Spanich out there somewhere.

Nov. 16 CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE (Maui Invitational opening game)
Can someone explain to me how this is a Maui Invitational game? They are not even in the field of the participating teams in Maui. Is Cal State Northridge travelling to Maui playing against a different set of teams?
Is McKale going to be available to host the Red Blue game?

Opening round of Maui invite is in the host sites. I think even if the team loses though they still go to Maui.ALASKACAT wrote:Nov. 16 CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE (Maui Invitational opening game)

Re: Arizona Wildcats basketball: Hoops Schedule
If that is the case, why not just call it a regular home game. Win or lose Cal State Northridge ain't going to Maui unless I am missing something.azcat34 wrote:Opening round of Maui invite is in the host sites. Re: Arizona Wildcats basketball: Hoops Schedule
Is there any particular reason AZ plays two regular season games against UCLA over a two-year span? So f'ing stupid.
Re: Arizona Wildcats basketball: Hoops Schedule
Due to Pac 12 unbalanced schedule, the only Pac 12 team we play twice every year is ASU (natural rival).
