Fucking hippies.
Re: Marijuana
That among other benefits. Most of all helps with my stomach issues especially when I have flair ups. Also just relaxing and much better for me to get super stoned than drinking as well.Longhorned wrote: ↑Thu Jul 01, 2021 2:01 pm Do any of you use pot to think through things creatively and more deeply?

Re: Marijuana
Related to the discussion about wine in the Random Thoughts Thread.... I was reading a piece in the Washington Post that talked about recent studies of cannabis that show no basis for claims that different strains create different kinds of highs. Indica, sativa, whatever - it's all just the same high. The variable is how much THC you smoke or eat. Also, advertised levels of THC concentration are baseless.

Simply anecdotal but I most certainly notice the difference between strains. Not the least of which is how quickly I build up a tolerance to its effects, but also energy levels, anxiety, and creativity.

I do, too. And I swear by edibles with higher ratios of CBD to THC, which makes no sense because CBD doesn't produce a high.

Anyone else enjoying the extremely low prices right now? I now get a half ounce of Wedding Cake shake for $20, a full oz for $40. I used to pay $40 an oz for Columbian Gold in the 1970's, with Mexican around $25 full of sticks and seeds.
Also bought a whole bunch of edibles for $7.50 for 100 mg, at 10 mg per serving.
And those taxes!

No low prices in Illinois. A .5 gram cartridge is upwards of $60 BEFORE taxes. It’s stupid.
Meanwhile in Michigan they’re practically giving the stuff away.

I don't know how to use a cartridge, but appears to be $20-$30 for a gram before taxes at the place I use. https://croplandhealth.com/category/5db ... 082972cacd

I seem to remember paying 25 for a lid of Kona bud around that time. I think the guy was in cash flow squeeze at the time though. Michojuacan was about 20 an ounce if you bought a brick. Unbranded was always just 10 bucks, but it could be good or bad.dovecanyoncat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 10:05 am The first lid I ever bought (1973) was $30. Pure shake Mexican. Re: Marijuana
So I got some carmel's that a customer gave me for nausea during my radiation, they worked great. He gave me 2 more blocks of carmel's, about 25 or so servings each for this round of chemo. This chemo is easier to control nausea on than the radiation/chemo was so I gave them to my cousin who also has pancreas cancer.
Point is, he sells his stuff to the kids (college students) that are playing around and makes carmel's for his cancer PT's and gives them away to them.
He is gonna get a hell of a deal on his fuel oil this year.
So yes, they are giving it away in Michigan.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

The last Gold I had was in Nashville at college. Then ages later I was going through a box of crap and found an old unused deep-bowl pipe with a large pristine Gold bud wedged down in the bowl. By that time I had Oregon mates who grew wicked outdoorian (nicknamed Satan), but firing up that old relic from the past was glorious. So spicy it was like snorting ground cloves. Ahh ...... youth is wasted on the young.Merkin wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 6:07 pm$25 for Mexican, $40 for Columbian Gold in 1976-85.dovecanyoncat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 10:05 am The first lid I ever bought (1973) was $30. I used to ask for Columbian Gold at the local dispensaries, but all I get is a blank look. Thought I saw it one time.
Although a blank look from the budtenders is normal.

Do they sell anything resembling the old creeping redbud of the past? Since I quit before dispensaries were birthed I have no understanding of the retail experience.

Everything has a brand name now but the strains are actually wildly different.
Someone looked at the Terpenes in the same strains from different dispensaries and areas and they were very different from each other even though they were all sold under the name Sour Diesel or whatever.

Isn't everything pretty much an indica strain now? I haven't seen or heard of much sativa in years.
Sativa always seemed to come with a lighter easier buzz. Depending on quantity smoked of course.

Or do I really just want the pineapple habanero one in my stocking?

Yeah, it's strange how I and others gravitate toward taste. When I pick them up, the people at the dispensary tell me what other flavors to try, and talk about the flavor. But if we care about the flavor, why don't we just eat regular gummies so we can really devour them? I buy cannabis gummies for the flavor, and then I'm only allowed to eat one.

I’m not sure why budtenders sell you on edibles according to the taste.
My questions are always will this get me high, how long will it take to get me high, and how long will I be high. Don’t give a crap if it’s got subtle undertones of pineapple my guy…

Doing a search on weedmaps for Jeeter pre-rolls finds this. I love apple fritters! Whatever this thing is.
I smoked too much skunk weed over the years to enjoy the flavor. The gummies I use (froot) hide the taste extremely well. Also the caramel balls.Longhorned wrote: ↑Mon Dec 13, 2021 4:00 pm But's it's that slight taste of marijuana that makes it all so delicious, isn't it? Lifelong pot smokers just truly enjoy the taste.
