Sadly it doesn't work that way. Wins which are vacated by the winning team are still losses for the losing team.

Mandel is right in my opinion. ASu is going to work from the bottom up and hope that enough cuts from the bottom will help save the head. Considering their alternatives, this might be their best strategy. Even then, might not be able to save Pierce and Herm.

Assuming these two coaches and the TE coach already on leave are not retained, this will hurt ASu recruiting. Unless a position group or coordinator is struggling, most position coaching changes happen after the end of the Spring signing season, when kids are already committed. Even if a position coach/coordinator is fired after the end of the season, it usually gives time for the departing coaches to say a few kind words for his replacement, and keep kids he was recruited still in the pipeline. With three coaches down for an entire season, that's a number of recruiting relationships ASu will be missing.

Won't help on the field either. It's three sets of eyes that might have caught something or suggested a change that won't be there during practice or games.

My favorite part about all of this is that there is still so much that is supposed to come out. According to Wrighster podcast, even his ASU friend agrees, that coaches across America all have told them even worse stories that haven’t hit the press yet but will.
