What's never mentioned is that Anthony had been FIRED by Disney, which is why he had time on his hands to do the freelance work for the then Arizona State College, and which would also explain his enmity for Walt Disney. As far as I can tell, after that Anthony faded into obscurity.

Per Rivals this morning, ASU looks to have lost another recruit and now only have 5 recruits for 2022. We now have as many 4 star recruits as them. That puts them at #99 in total recruit commitments nationwide. 247 Sports has them last in the Pac 12. Ahhhhh...

They may have a good year with the current team, BUT don't tell me this recruiting violation debacle won't have an effect. I wonder if the University President has already Identified an new Athletic Director and new Football coach to start to going after for replacements while having hopes of a successful season?

My guess is this time next year that Herm will be back employed with ESPN (or some other network) as a guest commentator and that Antonio Pierce will be an assistant coach at some unknown high school.

Per 247 Sports, ASU is now ranked at #95. No one is going to sign on with ASU until the investigation on Visit-Gate has some type of outcome. It's looking more like a lot of the staff may not be retained or leave under pressure as this drags on.

Good team with little direction. Time will tell.

I realize there's supposedly one of those "unwritten baseball rules" that you can never, ever, say anything about any team that's currently got a better record than you do, because (OMG!)...scoreboard. Well, that's dumb and bullshit, so fuck that. Having just watched the mob scene in Young Frankenstein, I'm immune to that kind of thought process. But, with the big pre-season talk from ASU fans and media whenever they figure to have a halfway decent team and relatively easy schedule (and this goes back at least 50 years), I'll confess to enjoying their frustration, especially in our current reduced circumstances. When the local ASU media blather away about winning the league, the national media never seem to learn their lesson, and they pick up on it. Meanwhile, Herm blatantly and deliberately cheated and got caught, they face probation, and their recruiting class fell apart. I'm sure their fan base would accept all of that for one big year, but that's not going to happen. As I said in the pre-season: El Paso Bowl. So, after the untalented and ugly fanboy at the one-surviving Phoenix newspaper spouted the ridiculous nonsense that the state's flagship university (they hate that) might fire a first-year coach who inherited absolutely nothing, now he has to concede the obvious that Herm's chair keeps getting warmer and warmer.

Listening to the comments, Jordan Simone qualified himself as gracefully as he could before stating what a lot of Sun Devils fans posted much more aggressively on twitter and in the comments of ASU's Instagram account - that their season is sharply turning in a negative direction.

To say something nice(?) about Herm Edwards, are ASU's few diehards who melted down over their homecoming loss and the beat writers who go about doomsayer-ing Herm's 4th season overreacting?

ASU is 7-3 and 5-2 in conference, which squarely positions the Sun Devils at 3rd in conference. This despite missing several coaches all season. First off, I think fanbases are more in general quick to revel in more misery than ever (see Texas, Washington, etc). Second, I think what ASU's fans are really reacting to after a loss is the uncertainty that lies ahead. The NCAA investigation, the overhaul of the assistants, and the worst recruiting class so far in the Pac 12.

On the field though, I actually think Herm has done a B/B+ job in stabilizing the season with 7 wins thus far despite the storms waiting in the off season.
