That #1 ranking is a bitch.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Wasn't it Purdue that absolutely bullied us off the court back during Lute's years. Maybe the Buddinger team?

That first time #1 ranking sure didn’t last long.
Sorry Boilermaker fans.
Sorry Boilermaker fans.
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
Don’t we have a case to be top 5?

Hell yeah we do!

Undefeated Arkansas also got smoked at Oklahoma
Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
well we're #11 and today #10 and 12 lost and either #9 or 14 is going to lose between Houston and Alabama later, and a road win in the big 10 is a good win...so yeah there really isn't much reason to rank us below like #5 or 6 honestly. Possibly as high as like #3.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.
i'll just go with fuck asu.

Baylor currently playing Villanova at home on ABC. They're really impressive defensively, held Nova to 9 pts for the first 17 plus minutes.
Then Gillespie hit two 3s late to get them to 15 at the half. Kind of a ugly defensive battle, Akinjo has taken some questionable shots.

Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
Baylor scored less than 60?!?!
Nova held to 36!?!?!
Baylor would have to score more than 57 to win a game against us.

I can't be the only who thinks we're now better off without Akinjo. He's a ball dominant guard. One of the defining traits of this AZ team is its unselfishness and high number of assists. We don't need a chucker.RondaeShimmy wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 1:52 pm Baylor currently playing Villanova at home on ABC. Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
Dude can play. Check out his 3 point shooting.
I haven't even thought about Akinjo until the first half of the Illini game, esp with Aikens out and Terry getting 2 fouls in the first 9 seconds. But after Kriisa's 2nd half awakening he completely slipped my mind again.Beachcat97 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 12, 2021 3:05 pm I can't be the only who thinks we're now better off without Akinjo. Tenn. had 12 guys in double figure mins tonight. They were playing a cupcake but still looks like they are 8 deep.
Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
Till they fix their E. Bates problem they are limited. Was 1-6 tonight and out of control a big portion. Don't think they want to sit the number 1 recruit but they took the lead when he was sitting.

Creighton loses a road game to the ShitShovels by 1 point, and then goes home and hammers Nova by 20.

Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
Seems like nova shouldn’t even be ranked, let alone top10.
Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
The problem is with Memphis, not UT so we should be good

Utah has a little over a minute within which to break 50.

Re: 2021-22 non PAC-12 games
Baylor is for real. That's as good a road win as we've seen this season.
Still sort of feel like we're better off without Akinjo, but my god, he's arguably the MVP on the #1 team in the country. Hard to believe we're where we are *in spite* of losing him.

ISU getting homered like crazy at OU.
They’ve got 3-0 fouls in the second Q after 3 minutes. They haven’t shot a FT yet. Lead by 11.
