Tennis
How about the Australian Open this year?
The Williams sisters in the women's finals (ages 35 and 36).
Federal vs Nadal in the men's final (ages 35 and 30).
Has this ever happened in tennis before? It appears that training for tennis is down to a science and players are able to last longer. Anyway this promises to be a very special tournament.

Re: Tennis
I suspect that is the last time we will see those four in grand slam finals.
I pretty sure Venus has been talking about retirement for a few years now and I think its Serena and their Mom that keeps getting her up for it. Serena has still got some more Tennis to play, and she really gets up for Grand Slams, especially the Oz and Wimbledon. But it is definitely getting harder for her. I remember back in 2007 when she came back from an extended injury lay-off and got really mad that the press was really giving her shit about the extra weight she was carrying (and won the Oz out of spite more than anything I think). She does have trouble keeping it off when she is out injured and you know she isn't 25 anymore.
The talk around Melbourne is that Federer probably would have retired if he had lost the other day. We might just see it happen after Sunday, whatever the outcome. Nadal has had a really difficult recovery from his wrist injury and of course he has a genetic foot problem. Keeping match fit is gonna be tough.

Great match if you're up. 3-3 on serve in the fifth, Federer serving.

Federer/Celic in the Aussie final after Chung retires injured.
Roger going for Grand Slam number 20. Wow. He sure does give good interview.
Chung is a big revelation. He gonna be good. Bad luck with the blister, but the way he plays he's likely to have that trouble his entire career.

Did you see the picture of the blister and his foot in general? Pretty brutal!

Re: Tennis
I used to truly hate playing guys like Djoker in juniors but that was a fucking unreal display of defense and defense to offense transition today.
If he wins 2-3 next year I don’t think Roger is the unquestioned GOAT.

Yes, yes it is.
Big “don’t you know who I am” vibe coming from the Joker camp and big “sir, this is a Wendy’s and we don’t care” vibe coming from Australia.

Not very often you can challenge an entire country to a fight. Gotta shoot your shot when it presents itself.

Djoker being deported.
Fraudulent Visa app.
Failed to provide appropriate evidence for entry qualifications into Australia.
This is the correct outcome.

Djoker's visa has been cancelled again.
He can appeal again, but I dont think he'll succeed.
If he leaves of his own accord now, he can probably come next year. If he is actually deportedhe can't come for at least 3 years.

So now Joker has removed himself from two majors he was favored in because he's not vaccinated and because of his temper, all while he is trying to get the majors record outright.

Re: Tennis
Djokovic is such an idiot. His biggest goal is to have the most majors so he will be considered The GOAT.
Now Nadal is back in the lead, and will be the favorite at The French Open where Joker won't even be allowed to play and Nadal could be up two majors before Wimbledon even starts. (Plus the US Open he threw away because of his temper.)
Yes, Novak is a year younger and overall playing at a higher level than Rafa, but ask Tiger Woods what can happen when you are chasing a major record that everyone assumes you'll get someday.
All because he won't take a little jab. SMDH

So Joker was allowed to play the French, but he is now 2 majors behind Nadal anyways.

Re: Tennis
What a great tennis match in USA women's finals. It is a matter of wills. The Poland player is better but the Tunisian player has a will to win. She was down 3-0 in the second set with 2 service breaks and the second set is 5-5. This is a game of confidence and will. It's one of the better tennis matches I've seen in some time.
