Re: Kerr Kriisa
But why isn't he wearing high tops for ankle support? After I had a high ankle sprain that's all I could wear.
Re: Kerr Kriisa
I mean, that thing looks like it has a brace and a whole roll of tape. I’m curious on how it looks when he’s 1 on 1 trying to shake a guy.

Re: Kerr Kriisa
The swelling is still quite profound judging from that picture even considering the three rolls of tape they used. Just put it in a cast for God's sake. I feel as though KK may end up being more of a liability than an asset if he plays tomorrow. Especially on defense. Wright State has very good guards from what I saw yesterday and they like to penetrate and take mid range shots. They could definitely beat Kriisa off the dribble quite easily. I think playing him is a bad idea but the opponent not knowing if he's going to play is where we can gain a psychological edge. I just don't want to see the injury worsened by playing him too soon.

Don't play Kriisa on Friday, maybe some limited minutes on Sunday.
Re: Kerr Kriisa
ya this is all terrific and very encouraging great job trainer guy etc.
in my opinion AZ should play without him tomorrow, dress him and let him run through warm ups lightly and get to experience the NCAA Tournament the right way hes earned it but do not play him.
rehab and rest more and then re-evaluate daily. just how i feel.

I'm with you '97.
I don't feel he will start and CTL will just see how the game goes. If we open up a big lead in the first half I think he sits him completely.

I trust Tommy Lloyd, Justin Kokoskie, and Kerr Kriisa
Re: Kerr Kriisa
We already beat colorado and ucla without him. And if we are the team we think we are we can get by the first and second round without him as well. But of course Kerr is going to want to play. He should definitely sit today and go from there.
Two extra days of rest and helps him avoid the quick turnaround of two games in two days. Even if he plays Sunday he has plenty of rest for S16 where we’ll really need him. Then Elite 8 game playing for the Final Four is all hands on deck do whatever you need to do.

I'd be in on this. If he's dicey, err on the side of caution. If he's doing pretty well, maybe give him a few short stints to get him back acclimated to the game and keep him to maybe 6-8 total minutes.EastCoastCat wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 5:52 am I'm with you '97.

If he's anywhere close, the bigger issue is Sunday. With him coming off an injury, you don't want to count him as a difference maker tonight.

Re: Kerr Kriisa
I pushed this before, but I worry about him deconditioning. Two weeks is a long time for a player to go without game speed action, especially when the first game back is Sweet 16 and you need him.pokinmik wrote: ↑Fri Mar 18, 2022 8:44 am We already beat colorado and ucla without him. If you don't think it will set him back, I'd play him tonight for short periods and look to Sunday for an actual role.

Can he jump yet? I only saw him shooting around but not running or jumping. I hear you about conditioning but re-injure it and the Tournament is definitely over for him.

I want Kriisa to play if he is ready to play.
What I dont want is for Arizona badketball to ruin the ankles of another talented player like it did Jim Rappis.
Just do the right thing for Kerr Kriisa, Arizona will survive to correct decision.

Re: Kerr Kriisa
This, TCU plays very physical and they pressure the ball in the half court. He better be close to 100% or TCU will take advantage of him. Their PG is very aggressive and looks to drive the ball on every possession.
Re: Kerr Kriisa
“Kerr has been our point guard all year. And he’s helped us run our offense, getting in our flow, help us in our transition, with decision-making,” Lloyd said. “The calculus today was simple. I didn’t feel like he was quite ready to play.
“And was hoping that we could get through this game without needing him. And fortunately we were. Now we’ll kind of roll up our sleeves and see what tomorrow brings, keep attacking the thing. He’s closer to playing than not playing. So hopefully soon.”

The kid went down 16 days ago. Wonder how hard he's running during practice?

Don't have a crystal ball, but I think he's sitting out the TCU game as well. He can do some things, but he needs to be able to do all things. He should be there by next week.

He was getting elevation on his jumpers during the shoot around. Along with standing on this bad ankle and pushing the weight of his whole body on it.

The only scenario I see him playing if the game gets away from us and we need some energy/3 pt shots. Even then I don’t think he plays imo.

If the decision to play Kerr is based on needing him to succeed instead of Kerr's well being- we have a shit coach and programBeachcat97 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 19, 2022 8:02 amYou sound awfully confident about tomorrow. I think you want TCU to have to prepare like he might play.

Re: Kerr Kriisa
Kerr is an emotional guy, feels like he'll try to do too much in his first game back.
I don't understand why not get him out there to shoot a couple 3s and pull him between a TV timeout v Wright St.
The longer the wait, the worse that will get and also his basketball conditioning worsens.
