Good for Holloway. Better capitalize on that magic while he can. St Peter's was nothing special until their shocking Elite 8 run. They were a 21-12 15 seed from the MAAC. If you were doing your best to pick an upset special St Peter's would have never been given a second thought. 3 upsets in a row with that resume? That's like the dude from the Great Outdoors that got struck by Lightning 66 times. Impossible, implausible, and holy shit all in 1 tournament. This was a team that was 0-4 against juggernauts Iona and Siena. Crazy.

Big coaching jobs are for novices. All the big coaches have left them for mid-majors.

Man LSU is a raging dumpster fire!!!
LSU Has No Remaining Scholarship Players on Basketball Team for Next Season

Madison Williams
Apr 1, 2022

Since LSU coach Will Wade’s firing on March 12, the team has lost all of its scholarship players from this past season.

Mwani Wilkinson entered the transfer portal on Friday, making him the last player from the 2021—22 team to leave the program. Eleven total players entered the transfer portal in the last couple weeks, along with two players declaring for the NBA draft. On top of this, four players who were committed for the 2022 and ’23 seasons have uncommitted from LSU.

With 13 total previous players gone, this means no remaining scholarship players are on the team for next year.
All committed recruits have withdrawn, too....

Those 60-70 work weeks all year long are brutal.

Always liked Steve Lavin, and so did Lute. Doesn't make him a great coach, but he is likable.

Not sure where to put this comment, but, in light of recent comments and events,

I will never wonder "what could have been" or if we missed out on getting Nate Oats.

Not impressed with how he handled this.
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

It's strange that it didn't work out with him in Austin. Shaka is a damn good coach. Sometimes it's just not a good fit between coach and program. Crean at Indiana. Gillespie at Kentucky. Lane Kiffin at USC.

I am sure they would love to like package themselves with Stanford just for the Big 10 academics.

Cal needs to get paid and soon. They have the worst stadium contract in the history of the known world.

Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner was relieved of his duties following a quick exit from the 2023 ACC Tournament. :( Hope he lands on his feet soon. GT was a tougher job than Memphis I think and I am actually surprised they stuck with him after the first 5 seasons.

Hard to imagine Josh getting another decent coaching opportunity for a while. Might be time for him to become a studio regular on espn.

I like Josh but he would be better off coaching a school that does not have high expectations. A school like SMU might be a good place.

Thats a tough place to recruit - tough admission standards.

He obviously has a name recognition factor to his advantage, and his pro playing and coaching experience should give him some credibility! He’ll need some good assistants with collegiate experienct.

Inwish himnthe best!!

Does that mean Bobby Hurley to Providence? I really hope not. I love him as ASU’s coach. Way too easy to hate while he keeps them bad to mediocre.

Ohio State just fired Chris Holtmann. Sean Miller being mentioned heavily as his replacement.

Honestly, it’s probably a better job than Louisville which is the other spot Miller has been mentioned for.
