Re: Haha Florida
Tucson take note. Worst potholes in the west
Re: Haha Florida
Especially after all the flooding and rain, the roads in town are a disaster currently. All over town there's freaking meteor craters a foot deep in the roads.
i was going to put the ua/asu records here...but i forgot what they were.

Re: Haha Florida
The major streets are usually okay, but as soon as you venture to any neighborhoods or side streets you're basically offroading it.
Re: Haha Florida
My 1st year of college my parents leased me a brand new SUV that I could take with me to Tucson. (Yes I was a spoiled shit, my therapist reminds me daily). By the time I graduated college the brakes, springs, and shocks on that car were completely fucked. Tucson roads basically destroyed that car.

Re: Haha Florida
But Tucson doesn’t have the freeze & thaw cycle that develops east coast and midwest potholes.
Why are your roads so bad?

Re: Haha Florida
It's because we have so much more rain than the east coast and midwest. And the previous dry heat made the paving friable.
When I'm not trying to avoid huge potholes, I'm asleep and dreaming about avoiding huge potholes.
One of them took out my tire two weeks ago.

Re: Haha Florida
We do sometimes. It freezes enough to matter, and the heat in the summer expands and bulges the roads out so they split apart that way too

Re: Haha Florida
I actually like the potholes. Tucson drivers don't give two shits about killing children on bicycles, but they'll do anything to protect their own tires. They'll even go so far as to slow down and pay attention.

I work downtown and Granada is a major artery out of downtown because it turns into Oracle. The area from the train tracks to Speedway was comical for a while. The potholes were so large and packed, it was like a slalom course for about 1/8 of a mile.
Knock on wood, I've only lost a tire and rim to a pothole once, on Mountain. Of course, I say that and I feel like my car will disappear into one later today.
Re: Haha Florida
Nothing in Tucson is more terrifying than someone on a bike. I don't think I've ever seen a biker follow any road laws ever.

I cruise the back roads a lot in town. The worst road I’ve seen so far is Flowing Wells north of Grant (at the old Farmer John’s).
Just brutal.

Re: Haha Florida
A bicyclist? I agree there are people on bikes without helmets riding the wrong way down the sidewalk, but the bike routes are filled with helmeted parents following all the rules while trying to bike their kids to school and keep them alive. Meanwhile, baby boomers are running stop signs and barreling toward us, or rolling down their windows to yell at us to go ride off to the side of the road so the next baby boomer running a stop sign can smash us.

Cleveland Browns DT Malik McDowell arrested on charges of battery on police officer, resisting arrest, public exposure
According to the arrest report, McDowell beat a deputy in a "violent attack" that left the officer "dazed" and fearing a "permanent injury" to his right eye. McDowell is being held on a $27,000 bond, according to the online record.
"We are aware of the very concerning incident and arrest involving Malik McDowell and are in the process of gathering more information," a Browns spokesperson said in a statement. "We understand the severity of this matter and our thoughts are for the well-being of all involved. We will have no further comment at this time."
According to the incident report, police in Deerfield Beach, Florida, reported getting a call of a naked man walking near a school, later to be determined as a children's learning center that was in session. When confronted, McDowell charged at police "full speed with closed fist," according to the report, leaving a deputy injured. The officer said he was unable to avoid McDowell's attack or use any "de-escalation tactics.'' McDowell slammed into the officer and punched him in the right eye and on the top of the head, according to the report.
McDowell then fled, but eventually was shocked with a Taser and handcuffed. The officer said his right eye was nearly closed because of swelling from the punches he absorbed in the attack and there is a "likelihood that I sustained permanent injury to my eye.''

Re: Haha Florida
With his legal issues over the years, this will be the end of his football career.
McDowell was taken by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 2017 draft, but he never played a single snap for them. Just before training camp, McDowell got into an ATV accident and was placed on the non-football injury list. He was arrested twice after the accident, once for driving while intoxicated and once for disorderly conduct. He was arrested again in February 2019 for resisting arrest, operating a vehicle while under the influence and assault, and in April on charges relating to the possession of stolen property.

Don’t you have to have insurance to buy a car? I’ve always been forced to prove I’m insured before I can take possession of a new vehicle.

With J6 as their model they thought they'd be welcomed as Patriots and given pardons if not.
