That does not sound good. Hanah is a good, not great pitcher, but this team definitely needs her. She basically is the only veteran pitcher they have. Going with Elish, Netz and Fontes for the remainder of the season will be a tough learning experience.

Honestly this team had zero business not adding a transfer pitcher in the offseason. Year one is going to be a very bump ride for Lowe.

Our goose is pretty much cooked without her in the bullpen. Feel sorry for Lowe. We haven't had that dominant pitched in a few years.

SCHEDULE UPDATE
Arizona Softball's doubleheader vs. UTEP this afternoon has been canceled due to UTEP's lack of available players.
Arizona will host the Bear Down Fiesta this weekend to close out the nonconference portion of its schedule.

Got swept last weekend at UCLA with a combined score of 15-0.

Getting drilled by ASU at home right now 8-2, top of the 6th.

Pitching is terrible. I wonder if Taryne will be blamed? It's a young team but why can't they get a stud pitcher?

Eventually someone has to get blamed, all the pitchers on our roster were fairly highly ranked (top 25ish) players.

Candrea probably had a big say in Lowe being his replacement, but because this is such an elite program, they could of hired a top-name coach.
Lowe is the coach and she needs everyone's support, but she is going to have to make big decisions after this season.

More like Candrea had all the say. Lowe is definitely in for some heavy decisions this offseason, because it's one thing to get killed by UCLA in LA, it's another thing to get destroyed by ASU at home. This team may literally not make the tournament.

The talent can't have fallen that far off after one season. Sounds like this staff is in over their heads.

Isn’t this team very young? Besides the pitching which we knew would be suspect, are we pinning the poor play on Lowe? I mean we had to know there would be a transition year or two

I don't think people are blaming Lowe. She did inherit a young team, but the pitching needs to improve. Yesterday they scored 7 runs and most times that would be enough. It will be interesting what changes Lowe might do after this season. She needs to bring in her players.

Finally, I wonder if Candrea saw this year's team was going to struggle and that played a part in him retiring after last season?

I hate to break it to you, but these are her players. She's been the primary recruiter for this program for some time now. There are good pieces on this team and plenty that aren't performing were highly rated as well, including the pitchers. Lowe has a lot of decisions to make this offseason that's for sure to fix this, because this ain't gonna cut it.

Cats take 2 0f 3 from Utah on the road. Skaggs hit two homers, including a grand slam, as the Cats won game three 6-5. They have now won two series in a row. Finally, it's great to see Meono back!
