Going into the bottom of the 9th, our pitchers had only given up three hits to Miami. What a great effort. Not sure how we piece together another 18 innings today from our staff. Just get that first one and see who’s left

18-5 middle of the 6th. 3 walks, 2 wild pitches, 1 HBP & 3 doubles in the 6th. Looks like we officially ran out of pitching. It was fun while it lasted. Not sure what our attrition and recruits next year look like but I really hope we can shore up the pitching.

The ghost of 2016 is alive and well it seems. The weather delay fucked us then and it fucked us this year too. 36 innings in 45 hours against the best teams in baseball is a lot to ask of a pitching staff. The rubber match would have been tonight too right?? That’s crazy. Not a good regional to go into the loser’s bracket out of the gate.

I am not going to bash Berry as much as I would like to only because his pops did play for ULL, so maybe that had something to do with his journey down to Bayou country. However, fuck JJ. Turncoat in every sense of the word. It wasn't like he was leaving a dumpster fire or crappy program. For him to take Berry, Cooper, and another recruit or 2 and even try for more shows he is a POS IMO. Hope LSU fires his ass in a few years.

Bullard likely gets drafted, but not a good sign he’s hedging his bet by entering the portal. Pimental was turning into one of our only worthwhile lefties in the pen. Needless to say this sucks.

Both Stanford and Oregon State avoided elimination last night with wins in their respective home super regionals.

They both play today (Stanford is losing at the moment to ugh...UCONN) to try and get some Pac representation in the CWS.

The CWS may play where Oklahoma and Ole Miss is in the championship. We hammered Oklahoma 14-4 early and Ole Miss is just on fire. We had them up 4-2 in the 7th but we gave up a 2 run HR and then a bases clearing double with 2 outs the next inning.

We struck out 30 times against them and we had trouble with off speed stuff all year. I wonder how you all feel about his past year related to our progress hitting and pitching.

JJ seemed to be very good at getting our guys to work the count and to have great plate discipline. We seemed to regress in this area. Is that on Chip?

Pitching I thought was pretty good and injuries to Netz and Murphy hurt us. Might be unfair to ask Lawn to be by as good as Yesky and he did keep the ship afloat when JJ left but I wonder about his effectiveness with our pitchers?

Would love to see us go balls out for this guy. Kelly, the former Sun Devil pitching coach and the PC at LSU last season got the head coaching gig at Washington and it says he is waiting to see who JJ brings in for next year. Would feel good to steal him away.
