• The Wildcats are the No. 2 seed in the South Region, after earning the No. 1 seed in the South Region last year. It is the first time since 2000 (1) and 2001 (2) that Arizona earned a top two seed in back-to-back seasons.
• In the NCAA Tournament, Arizona is 17-7 when playing as a No. 2 seed.
• This will be Arizona's third time playing in Sacramento for the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats are 4-0 in Sacramento, with wins over Loyola (MD) and Virginia in 1994 as a No. 2 seed and victories over Nicholls State and Illinois State as a No. 1 seed in 1998.
• Arizona is 7-2 all-time in the NCAA Tournament on March 16.
• The Wildcats are 12-2 this season against teams that advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
• Last year, Arizona defeated Wright State and TCU on the opening weekend of the NCAA Tournament in San Diego before falling to Houston in the Sweet 16.

• In the Pac-12 Tournament title game, No. 8 Arizona defeated UCLA, the No. 2 ranked team in the Associated Press poll. The Wildcats last win over a top 2 team in the country came against No. 2 Maryland on Nov. 8, 2001 by a score of 71-67 in MSG.

• Through the first 71 games of Tommy Lloyd's head coaching career, Arizona has shot 50% or better from the floor 39 times. The Wildcats also have 38 games of 20+ assists under Lloyd.
• In nine postseason games (Pac-12 + NCAA Tournament) under Coach Lloyd, Arizona has shot 49.1% from the floor.

O/U on how it takes for the announcers to say, "Did you know Kylan Boswell is only 17 years old?!"?

Arizona may only have a 7 player rotation. But all 7 are worthy of being starters. We are strong at 7 deep. Stay out of foul trouble and we are one of the best teams in the country. I am concerned about Kriisa's shoulder. I don't believe it is going to be a problem. We can compete with anyone. Even Henri and Adama are serviceable for a few minutes if needed.

Now if we can only get some interior defense. How many 2-3 foot shots are they going to get? Good thing they missed too many of them.

Uh oh, we have guards this year!!
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

The game plan seems to be play ‘em straight and don’t get burned by their good shooting.Merkin wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 1:27 pm Now if we can only get some interior defense. How many 2-3 foot shots are they going to get? Good thing they missed too many of them.

Are these PAC refs? These touch fouls drive me nuts.
Looked like Ballo committed a charge, but think it was a makeup call. Ballo got hid in the head on the rebound the other side with no call.
