Akinjo...good call. Weird player, too. One of the first to treat college hoops like free agency.
Is it weird that I don't consider his transfer to G-Town anywhere near as strange as Kriisa's decision to transfer to...Xaiver??

Not surprised and my guess is Tommy would not have given him guarantees on minutes as the 2. Streaky player and really is the same player he was as a freshman.

I won't miss Kriisa's antics and tech every game. Boswell was more composed and mature as a freshman and is also physically built for the college game. We can't overlook the fact that Kerr was hurt in two consecutive postseasons.

This! Though, with a couple of notable exceptions, I remain fairly unimpressed with his recruiting of his own players. His best recruiting job was keeping Sean’s players here. I hope this changes FAST.arizonawildcats wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 12:26 pmI thought you said you trust Tommy? Let him get his guys in here.

Kind of shocked but then again he's a bit mercurial so it's not surprising. I'm wondering how that conversation with CTL went but I'm sure he said he couldn't guarantee the same minutes next year because this year was not good enough for this program.
Appreciate what Kriisa did at Arizona though, but also excited to see what our backcourt with Bos looks like next year.

Re: Kerr Kriisa
I'm rather attached to my asshole, and I'm going to miss Kriisa. I wanted him to develop into a dead-eye shooting guard who could find space at the elbow/nail/mid-wing and swish floaters as drop D dared him to get any closer. But he didn't. Watch him go play with Sean and have a Barcello-esque revival. Go forth and kick ass, Kerr. Thanks for being a Wildcat.Merkin wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 11:47 am BTFD definitely goes back to the Goazcats days.
I don't see a lot of hate here. Just stating the obvious that he has weaknesses which are well known. My biggest peeve is in his inability or unwillingness to drive to the basket. He had 1 2 PT FG attempt when he played the 2 as a freshman and don't see that changing as a senior.
For his career, he averages 1.5 FTs a game. And I imagine many of those were being fouled a 3 point attempt.
I think everyone here wishes him nothing but the best. He may be an asshole, but he was our asshole.

Curious to see where he lands and whether a different system will suit his strengths better than Tommy’s did.

1. Losing Kerr sucks. He could be an a-hole, but he was our a-hole.
2. Losing Anderson would double suck. He's a Phx guy and remember hearing rumors about how his trajectory was catching everyone by surprise.

Re: Kerr Kriisa
I enjoyed Kerr and appreciated most of his antics-he was my favorite Cat this year. Nevertheless, I’m surprised he didn’t improve in any meaningful ways this year. According to some articles I read today, he played with NBA players last summer, but that time didn’t appear to translate to improved court decisions. He didn’t get stronger. He didn’t develop any go to shots inside the 3 line, which limited his chances of getting to the line. He showed flashes of defense. Why couldn’t he or the coaching staff translate his wild energy into better and smarter play?U.P. Zona Fan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 22, 2023 11:29 am Love Kerr, love the fire!!!
Everyone has deficiencies, but he had great upside.
I felt he had worn out his welcome with Pac 12 refs which sucks, you should not be reffed differently than anyone else, no matter who you are. Hope he comes back.
If not,
Thank you Kerr for all you did for this program, it has been a great run and we wish you the best next year and in the future.

Re: Kerr Kriisa
The lack of any kind of mid-range shot and an unwillingness to drive to the hoop certainly didn’t help the team, especially in a few of our losses. But his court vision, heart, and 3-point shot (when it was on) certainly did.
I think we’ll miss a lot of things about Kriisa, not the least of which will be seeing “Kerr” across the back of that #25 jersey making McKale roar.

Clearly, it's rigged! But look on the bright side: If we didn't mercilessly ridicule you it could lead one to conclude you weren't special. That is not to be allowed! So we changed the rules to give ourselves special latitude. (There's an entire thread [*"MIAGFP"] on the lower boards defining how petulant persecution complexes are "doing it right.") From Seth Davis The Athletic
Why did this happen?
Arizona had a really good season, despite how it ended. But it did end badly, and while no single person is at fault, it strikes me that an amicable divorce between Arizona and Kriisa might be in everyone’s best interest. Kriisa is a strong leader but he’s emotionally volatile, and he had a penchant for taking bad shots in critical situations. I also sensed tension between him and Tommy Lloyd about the way he played, specifically his overreliance on 3-point attempts. If Kriisa were totally committed to changing the way he plays and buying into what Lloyd wanted, that would be ideal, but now both sides will get a fresh start. — Davis

Kriisa needs to become a more complete offensive player. He's currently very, very easy to defend.

Going to miss Kerr but I'm here for the Machina drama. Your hate of Mike Luke is very strange.
