That's a long time without a FG for UA.

Everything has to go our way from here on out. We muffed our several moments within 4.

Refs weren't great but we played almost no defense in the entire first half, this loss is on the team.

Lotta fight in this team, it just wasn't consistently applied.

A lot of uninspired minutes for UA for long stretches for sure.

This long ass review is unnecessary. Just end the game already.

I'm fine with this loss, as long as we see them come back with a vengeance against Bama.

So many huge defenses lapses

Redoing 2000-2001 but with a different final result I hope.

Why do we always match up so poorly against Midwest BIG teams

We were doing well in that 2-3 zone and then we went back to man? Not sure why.

We’ve seen them once.
We catch them on a neutral game with neutral whistle. They gone.

Re: (M) Game #9 Arizona vs. Purdue (2023-2024)
Wish we would have kept the 2-3 zone - we had multiple chances to get it to a 1 possession game in that stretch just had some bad offensive sets and shots
Re: (M) Game #9 Arizona vs. Purdue (2023-2024)
Our unusual defense.......camp out the center out in the paint, was a poor matchup for this team.
A more conventional defense, with the center (Ballo) playing on the screener and then hedging hard, would (IMO) given us a better chance to win.

Fire the coach.
Re: (M) Game #9 Arizona vs. Purdue (2023-2024)
There were a couple of times late that we just couldn't put it in to close it to 2. Caleb played great today. A couple of guys did not have the game we needed to come out with a win. They also shot very well. There is no stopping Edny when he is within 10 ft.
Get ready for the next two. Like playing great teams.

Who puts a non conference lien this on conference tv?
Re: (M) Game #9 Arizona vs. Purdue (2023-2024)
Believe me, I want Arizona to win all games, and get pissed when they lose. We didn’t get our ass kicked on a non neutral site. Long way to go till March. I wouldn’t trade our team/coaches for any one else, long time to go
Re: (M) Game #9 Arizona vs. Purdue (2023-2024)
I wouldn't mind playing them again in the tourney.
Re: (M) Game #9 Arizona vs. Purdue (2023-2024)
Just have to tip your hat to Purdue today. They v are a great team that played at the top of their game today. Shot nearly 54% against us and win the rebounding battle. They deserved to win.
If we do meet then again, it's likely in the Final Four, in our backyard this year. Would be an epic rematch.

Re: (M) Game #9 Arizona vs. Purdue (2023-2024)
Can you name a team that would have beaten Purdue this afternoon in Indy?
If Purdue's guards shoot like they did in the first half and the last couple of minutes, I am not sure anyone can beat them.
We chose to limit Edey and did. We had multiple possessions where we just needed to make the big shot to get over the hump. We made enough shots to stay in it but not to win.
I thought it was a really good game.
The Cats played pretty well, Purdue just played better.
But Robbie Hummel can lick my taint.

Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Re: (M) Game #9 Arizona vs. Purdue (2023-2024)
Purdue pretty much controlled the game throughout. Clearly the better team won. I had said our schedule up to this point wasn't as hard as people thought and I was proven right today. Two more good opponents before conference play begins. Hopefully Arizona gets challenged more than expected by Pac 12 teams. Otherwise I see another early flameout in the NCAA tournament. Heading to a better conference is exactly what Arizona needs. Anyway, congrats to the Boilermakers on a job well done. For the second time Purdue has defeated a #1 ranked Arizona team. That's annoying.

Re: (M) Game #9 Arizona vs. Purdue (2023-2024)
went to the game today
Fun atmosphere
Decent UofA turnout
We didn’t adjust to that high screen to free up the 3 point shooter in the first half
I think we should have attacked Edey in the first half to try to get him in foul trouble
The 3 turnovers in a row in the first half really changed the momentum in the first half in. Purdue’s favor
Too many pocket pass attempts to our bigs. Ballo had not developed the hands
Too many turnovers in general, especially in the first half
Love and Johnson played inspired ball today
Ballo is really going to need a move that gets him an easy bucket our two, come March

Re: (M) Game #9 Arizona vs. Purdue (2023-2024)
In fairness to Oumar and his hands, throwing bounce passes at his shoes when his back is turned is not the best way to feed the big guy! Ballo did just fine when the ball was put somewhere between him and the rack!LuteIsGod wrote: ↑Sat Dec 16, 2023 7:00 pm went to the game today
