AZ seems to have a much better shot at a conference title and cfp than udub.
But they were going to pay deboer 7-8 million, right?
Even though he couldn’t make any attempt at an adjustment vs MI.

Can JDL come back?
Transfer rules are always changing, especially now, but previously he could come back, but the school does not have to retain his scholarship.
I imagine the UA is glad to get rid of him due to his legal issues.

Between NIL and unlimited transfers, and with the entire UW roster either leaving for the league or the transfer portal, UW will look more like UA next season than UA will.
Not much of a path to the CFP for UW in the Big 10 but Fisch has surprised many people.
So, that means the entire roster has 30 days for a no-holds-barred transfer??
We’re gonna lose our best players.
Why can’t we have nice things???

It's not a complete victory until you apologize.

College football is not in a good place right now. This isn't fun for anyone
Let’s just close the football board - if anything worth discussing happens, “Other Arizona Sports” should be sufficient…

Agree mostly. I'm stubborn and will still cheer for the UA football team and will not give up my season tickets.
That said, Congress needs to step in and restore sanity to College athletics. NIL/Portal have converted the college game into Semi-Pro leagues which is not the function of college. As I have stated in another thread, the poor old UA will never be able to compete with Phil $Knight$ and the other monied programs in the Power Conferences. Both the portal and NIL need to die a quick death and it can't happen soon enough. If an athlete wants to go pro they should be allowed to do so, whether its out of HS or at any time during their college career. But if you sign up to go to college, then it should be with the understanding that its NOT a professional leage.

Who ever is saying that is clearly a rat face liar. Probably his agent. The deal has been there for months and has only gone up in value. He never intended to sigh. He was just buying time.

Which makes me wonder if the ABOR was not willing to sign off on a huge pay increase (even if it doesn't come out of State Funds) for a school who is missing $240M...........Bad optics. It will be interesting to see if the truth ever comes out. If the ABOR did shoot down a new contract for Fisch then the UA won't want that made public given the fact that the UA is going to be coach shopping and won't want it known that the UA has $$$$ problems.

That's my take too, and why the UA wasn't serious in making a competitive offer to Fisch.
The UA AD already takes $50M a year from the academic (state funds) side, and not even counting the loan the AD took from the university during the pandemic and is late in paying it back.
With no pay raises for faculty and staff, and cutting scholarships to needy students, then making Fisch the highest paid state employee in Arizona is definitely bad optics.
Justin Spears is hosting a Twitter space for fans to vent, and basically said Heeke and Robbins wanted to fast track Jedd's extension, but because of the financial issues it wasn't a priority for ABOR, so we lost out on about 4.5 million we could've had for Jedd's buyout in the process.

Fisch isn't going anywhere. People (especially on Twitter) need to stop freaking out.
That aged well.
I said the same thing. I was hoodwinked when Jediliar said he was happy in Tucson, didn’t like moving again and said he was close to signing an extension…on National TV.
