Ohio State just fired Chris Holtmann. Sean Miller being mentioned heavily as his replacement.
Honestly, it’s probably a better job than Louisville which is the other spot Miller has been mentioned for.
Good luck whichever he chooses.
However, IMNSHO, as a former Ohioan who grew up loving ND and Big Blue, I hate Buckeyes!!
“If you have the choice between humble and cocky, go with cocky. There's always time to be humble later, once you've been proven horrendously, irrevocably wrong.”
Can he actually go there??? Don't we hate them?????????
Maybe it's just me.
I gotta cheer for Ohio State???
At least I don't live near my family that are Ohio State fans. Id start getting sweatshirts for Christmas again! I had lots, of kid sized Ohio State sweatshirts that I never wore. Think we sent them to Haiti with the mission trip that went from my church. I vaguely remember that, but that was 40 years ago!
Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.
-Norlander.
And they are swimming in football money. No such thing at Xavier.

One of the national pundits said they were looking at Miller since his buyout is cheaper than other coaches.
Can't believe tOSU of all universities is going cheap with MBB, like UCLA and UA did with their football hires.
That was of course until X was destroyed by Seton Hall last night.
Miller at OSU makes sense because he knows that region, and he'll be able to recruit at OSU almost as well as he recruited at AZ. I would expect OSU to very quickly reemerge as a national contender if they do hire Sean.
Louisville cans Kenny Payne after going 12-52 through his first two seasons. At a school like Louisville, you have to TRY to be that awful.

There’s a UA hater on Xitter that already floated Mick to Louisville and Lloyd calling up UCLA.
He really enjoys the engagement.

Mick can’t leave because ucla gave that guy the best contract in program history, and the buyout is asinine. For Mick Cronin
Good luck with that, ucla.
And I could see Kyle Smith getting a better job soon.

This had to happen. Stanford has been better in the past than what Haase has been able to achieve. Anyone remember the Trent Johnson era? He got to the NCAA tourney in 3 of the 4 seasons he was their coach, and he got to the S16 in '08.

For a school that prides itself on being smart, they sure held on to a crap coach for waaaaaay too long.

If it wasn't for Haase's 3-pointer against the UofA in the '96 Sweet 16, the Cats would of beaten Syracuse in the Elite 8 and made the Final 4.

Ohio State just fired Chris Holtmann.
DePaul hires Chris Holtmann, the ideal job for Holtmann to continue his unquestioned mediocrity. Where 20 win seasons might as well be a Sweet 16 run. DePaul hasn't had a tournament appearance since 2004...TWENTY YEARS ago!

And I thought they were going to steal Bobby from ASU.

Amazing that in a city as big as Chicago, DePaul can’t even get the area 4th tier players. They’re going to Evansville or Detroit-Mercy or Akron instead.
Convince just a couple good players to stay home and you can turn that program around.

And now Michigan gives the boot to Juwan Howard. A guy who gave Michigan several chances to fire him for cause. A guy who Michigan will now owe that buyout.

Michigan has enough PR problems with their coaches. His behavior wont help. They do have the NIL money he is always bitching about. Don't believe Michigan will pay the buyout which is ridiculous for a coach of his caliber. Wish him well if he decides to take it.
I think that Xitter user is trolling. What sources?

I think any program at a high level should make their first call to the Iowa St coach

Probably not as he was an assistant there for a time. Still a top tier program should reach out and measure interest

I mean more along the lines is Iowa state was THE job he wanted, he even came back to be an assistant there again until it opened up, and he met his Iowa st alum wife there during his first stint.
Mick probably on the list for Louisville, but I doubt he leaves for that job right now. They probably can pay more and have more NIL, but that's about it.
That buyout has eliminated most teams from even considering him including Louisville. You can get the highest level coach for 2 years for that kind of money. I'm happy you are stuck with him for at least 2 more years and by then you will probably be willing to wave the buyout. Unlike others I think you will be in the top tier of your new conference. Top 4 or 5.
The one coach I would have on speed dial for Louisville, Ohio State or other openings is Bryce Drew. The jackrabbits are going to their 3rd tournament in 4 years and no one knows who they are. If given unlimited resources and a national platform I think he would KILL it.

Yeah the same Jackrabbits that are 29-4 and just won their conference tournament. They're called the Antelopes genius and people know who they are. Typical Arizona homer underestimating other teams that routinely beat the mildcats in the NCAA tournament. You fools never learn. Do better.
