Re: Duke
So flipoutski trips on someone then falls into someone else and Duke claims it was intentional?
Re: Duke
I think the concern for players getting injured from a bunch of coeds rushing the court is a bit over blown.Postmaster wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 6:21 pm So flipoutski trips on someone then falls into someone else and Duke claims it was intentional?
If Flopowski can't survive a bunch of skinny college kids bumping into him how the hell is he going to survive in the NBA???
I remember a UA game in the late 90's (when Bramlett was starting at center) when the UA fans rushed the court after a big win. The announcers began crying about the safety of the UA players ("they could be hurt"). A close look at the court showed AJ Bramlett standing at center court with a couple of Hot young coeds under each arm while he groped away. The UA players all looked like they were having a LOT of fun.

Re: Duke
Fans are always gonna storm the field or floor unless you put it in a cage.
Re: Duke
I watched the Creighton fans storm the court this week when they beat UConn. Security was excellent - the sidelines were protected, and players/coaches were safe.Fishclamps wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 7:01 pm Fans are always gonna storm the field or floor unless you put it in a cage.
Wake Forest security was nonexistent! Wake should be fined!
BTW, some of the comments are really cold - how 'bout some empathy for the players/coaches?

Re: Duke
This right here is the easiest way to solve the problem. Make sure your security has control over the situation instead of just letting the fans run amuck.
I get the Duke coach was upset, but there are other solutions instead of an outright ban.

Re: Duke
There's a reason they called them cagers. Here's a shot of the first game at Bear Down Gym in 1927 with a net encircling the court. It wasn't just to corral errant basketballs; some places used chicken wire to prevent fans from throwing liquor bottles at players. Tougher game back then. But then, players would fall into rusty chicken wire and get infections, so there's your vicious cycle. Screw Duke. They've been crying that nobody should be allowed to celebrate and enjoy beating their ass for years. Just mandate an appropriate level of floor level security to escort Duke's precious players safely away from those oh-so-vicious non-Duke students when they lose.

Re: Duke
And after all the pathetic limping and his coach's rants, Filipowski is somehow back in the starting lineup with zero missed time. More importantly, Duke's next (and last) road game is March 4 at NC St.

So they didn’t have to amputate his leg below the knee? Thought for sure that would be the outcome.
Bilas still probably wants that kid sent to North Korea for getting close to his precious fellow Dukie.

It was your classic Grayson Allen push-trip. They probably spend an hour a week working on it in practice right after they dial in their floor slapping.

Kyle is a petty bitch like all Dukies. Must be a 101 level class in Durham.

I think it was a no call. The CBS article says that a ref went and had a chat with him, but I do not think anything was called. I wonder if that's something that can be penalized after the fact...

Re: Duke
I can't see a foul there, nor a flop. Filip was getting up, Ingram is getting up. Both were off balance. Ingram overbalances trying to avoid banging into Flip, but puts a hand on Flips back to avoid a full crash. Flip compensates by putting his leg out for his balance just in tim for Ingrams leg to catch it while he still off balance. Flip gets up and tests his leg.
I sespect the ref was asked both players if they thought was malice.

I see what your saying. I think it was the tooth fairy lifted up his leg. No issue with Flip.RichardCranium wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2024 7:14 pm I can't see a foul there, nor a flop. That is fucking hilarious that they can get on each other like that.
I still to this day think if Gilbert didn’t get hurt against MSU we would have won it.

Gil, if you just let RJ talk/dribble without stopping the ball he's gonna dunk on you.

I'm glad Duke lost. Still think Scheyer was the wrong guy for that job. We shall see.

Re: Duke
Totally. With all due respect to NC State, Duke was one step away from the FF, with their usual roster of NBA talent, and played one of their worst games of the season.

I didn't get a chance to watch the game, only score on the app - glad to hear Duke was that badBeachcat97 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 8:47 amTotally.
