I think Tennessee just jumped us for the #4 spot.
A huge road win for them

But going into this game we were #3 in NET and Tenn was #5
But they just added a huge road quad 1 win over Alabama- #6 in NET
Re: 2023-24 non PAC-12 games
I don't think we lose that one seed unless we lose next week. We were too far ahead of Tennessee to just suddenly be neck and neck with them.

Re: 2023-24 non PAC-12 games
Tennessee is finishing up their schedule with 2 more quad 1 games after this one.
They can only help themselves, UA can only hurt itself.

Re: 2023-24 non PAC-12 games
Agreed. Arizona must sweep the LA trip - no margin for error.
Tenn has two quad 1 games this week: @ #18 South Carolina, and #16 Kentucky - win both, and it would be hard to keep them off the #1 line.

Whoever plays Tennessee in the tourney will need to shoot Dalton Knecht in an extremity.

Iowa St has only scored 26 points in 24 minutes.

PS - it will be weird next year when this is the Non-Big12 thread and ISU/KSU will be in the conference thread. Strange days

Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Re: 2023-24 non PAC-12 games
ISU’s pressure defense is pretty good but once you break the press they aren’t great in the half court. A lot of bodying up which only works when refs let you foul.

Mike Bibby got a shout-out during this Kentucky vs. Tennessee game. Antonio Reeves went to Shadow Mountain HS for his junior year.

Based upon UK's play today, I think anyone who hopes to make it to the Final Four, absolutely does not want them to be in the same regional bracket...

Does Kansas have any good wins? Every time I see they are playing a ranked team they lose

Guys you are a bit premature. The winner of the next 4 that is 4 games will determine if we are a one seed. Not todays Tennessee's game not our next game but the results of the tourney. So please calm the F down.
What I will say is Kentucky can shoot and block shots.

The committee doesn't really care much about the tourney. Just making it to the title game without another loss should be fine.TheCat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2024 4:33 pm Guys you are a bit premature. Xavier came close to a big win but just couldn't get it done down the stretch. Miller has some work to do in the off season.

Re: 2023-24 non PAC-12 games
I'm not sure how you figure they don't care about the tournament when they have said in the past that they had two or more brackets depending on whether a high seed was going to win or not. It might not matter this year but it has in the past. So let me put it to you another way. If Tennessee won today but lost in the finals of their tournament and Arizona did not lose another game do you think that would change the committees mind on who the number one seed should be?AZCatGirl wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2024 4:51 pmThe committee doesn't really care much about the tourney. Re: 2023-24 non PAC-12 games
No, because I think Arizona is a 1 seed as long we don't lose regardless of what Tennessee does. I think we had too much of a head start for them to catch up. But I know most people don't agree with that opinion.TheCat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 09, 2024 5:59 pmI'm not sure how you figure they don't care about the tournament when they have said in the past that they had two or more brackets depending on whether a high seed was going to win or not. I still want a 1 seed!!
Think UNC needs to lose and we need to win out.

Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Seriously. It's just one game at a time. Look what happened when Tennessee lost and UA walloped UCLA. I imagine more than one poster thought the Cats had the 4th #1 seed locked up.EastCoastCat wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 12:39 pm I’m not counting anything until we win the next 2 games.

The results of this weekend have a huge influence on seating and it is what makes this a GREAT time of year.
Re: 2023-24 non PAC-12 games
Is it just me or are there a lot more upsets in the conference tournaments this year? Very surprised to see Purdue go down to Wisconsin in OT.
