Thank you again for the obvious assist in dooming this Tennessee team. You are going to be the MVP of this season and I thank you.Captain Obvious wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 8:12 am Tennessee obviously deserves the last #1 seed despite their loss to an excellent Kentucky team. UA had its chances. Just too may losses to bad Pac 12 teams. Not being battle tested over the past several weeks will be this teams undoing in my opinion heading into the NCAA tournament. That's why teams from the ACC, Big 12, and Big East will advance far and we won't. Sweet 16 is this teams ceiling but another first round exit wouldn't surprise me at all.

Re: Official Bracketology Thread
I said last week that there was a lot of basketball to play and our loss to USC was not necessarily are loss of a number 1 seed. If Arizona wins out (big if considering we are potentially playing a team that beat us twice) the only team I can see getting the number 1 seed over us is UNC and that is only if they win their tourney. Putting UNC as a 1 and Ariz 2 will be particularly interesting to the TV audience. Game will have two potential player of the year participants in it, along with Caleb being basically shown the door at UNC.

The more people ignore our team the better. I want them pissed.

Are the specific Final 4 matchups (West vs who?) determined when the field is announced? I can't find anything that predetermines the regional matchups.

Good question. I looked at the NCAA web page and it doesn't indicate it has been set yet. Maybe depends on where the #1 seeds end up? Maybe if you stopped hating on LeBron for being a good dad you would know that 1 and 4 overall seed's regions and 2 vs 3 overall regions set up for the final four. But LeBron for dad of the yearUAEebs86 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 15, 2024 5:12 pmGood question. I looked at the NCAA web page and it doesn't indicate it has been set yet. Best joke I've heard in a long time. They won't even get past the first round. Grand Canyon will make a deeper run than U of A.

Arizona State might have the most surprisingly anemic history in men's basketball of any program that you might think is better than it is.

Lloyd has never lost two in a row. So lose the game before the one you want to win.

Since the book is now out on how to beat UA with no answer by Lloyd, I suspect making the S16 would be categorized as a successful season. UA just has too many athletes to lose in the first two rounds. Doubt UA will lose to a sub-100 team like Princeton again.

That’s what I’m thinking too. If we run into a team that makes 10 3s, all bets are off.Merkin wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 8:39 am Since the book is now out on how to beat UA with no answer by Lloyd, I suspect making the S16 would be categorized as a successful season. I think our seniors are hungry to win NCAA tournament games, and I expect a different energy next week. If we get a favorable draw, maybe our March luck finally turns around.
I promise everyone will be picking us to lose next weekend, so it could be fun to shut up people like Seth Davis and Andy Katz and anyone else who habitually underestimates us.
Re: Official Bracketology Thread
I hope they laugh at how we'll obviously lose. We need the pissed off version of this team back.Beachcat97 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 8:43 am I promise everyone will be picking us to lose next weekend, so it could be fun to shut up people like Seth Davis and Andy Katz and anyone else who habitually underestimates us.
Also, ESPN has Duke moving up after losing, because of course they do.

Well, what do you know - a D1 basketball team from Maricopa County, Arizona is going to the big dance. Nope, it isn't the Normal School.
Re: Official Bracketology Thread
I think with Long Beach winning last night, they are a very likely opponent for the Cats in the first round. Would Gonzaga be a second round opponent?

If the committee really was funny they would have us face Grand Canyon then New Mexico then Gonzaga then Kansas to get to the FF

Why not put WAZZU in Spokane? They got a really tough draw as Drake is good.
Have to think Florida Atlantic got in comfortably based upon beating us. Hoping that means we get the 2 line at worst

3 of the 4 teams from last years final four in the same top half of the bracket is funny.

I gotta say: I'd rather have UNC in our region than Purdue, UConn or Houston. It's right there for us if this team can get its shit together.

Yep I think UNC is best 1 seed for us to face if we get there - and no potential for Houston until championship is good too!Beachcat97 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 3:30 pm I gotta say: I'd rather have UNC in our region than Purdue, UConn or Houston.
