I was disappointed with both Lebron and AD. When your 2 best players stink it up that's a big problem.

Re: Lakers
Well that was disappointing. Got to have some urgency. Maybe losing game 2 was the end. The Nuggets are good but have some freaking pride

Re: Lakers
Reeves and others need to make more shot attempts. As the assist leader and good rebounder LeBron can easily facilitate this.

Actually it is my fault according to my son who is a huge Lakers fan. He left the room during the 4th quarter saying my “bad mojo” was the reason the Lakers we’re playing so awful.

I've been using the "my bad mojo" angle for decades. I trot it out to intermediate my witness of the game as it goes south. Surely it's all about me, right? I use it to justify altering media.EastCoastCat wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 6:50 amNo, my bad. Turn the sound off.
Change the channel, and neurotically return.
Switch to radio.
Just check the score online.
We are such strange creatures.

Denver won the 3rd qtr 36-16. Hopefully the Lakers find a way to win the 4th qtr and make this a game

Re: Lakers
LeBron is 38. I remember a day of work when I was 40, and how it ended with the sun going down: a gut-busting 10 minute dash back across a steep-ass unit dead on the contour through ravel, blowdown, and sloughing soil as unstable as a vertical beach to reach a landing perched on the edge of a cliff. It's one thing to have it through half the day. But it's a bitch at the end when explosive lower body strength is required. Back at my trailer that night I was pretty proud.
Still an asshole, LeBron is a stud.

Re: Lakers
Lakers got what they deserved. Congrats to the Nuggets who were clearly the better team.
As for Lebron, I haven't been his biggest fan during his career but have to admire what he can still do. 40/10/9 when your team was on life support was pretty damn impressive. AD...not so much.
Although the NBA/networks would have preferred Lakers-Celtics, the Nuggets and the Heat are really the 2 best teams during these playoffs and deserve to be in the Finals. Both teams are playing at a championship level.

I’m also not a LeBron fan, and even as a Lakers fan I never viewed the Covid Bubble championship as anything but a weird anomaly. But this season I think proved his greatness. I went into the year hoping it was his last and now I’m hoping he runs it back for one more.

Believe the NBA CBA was just ratified, so the one and done rule is still in effect.

Re: Lakers
Yeah except he said he has a lot to think about concerning his future last night after the game. We all saw that he didn't have anything left in the tank by the 4th quarter.
Re: Lakers
Too much and too long grinding to even make the playoffs. Was really impressive by Lebron and the whole team I thought.
Next year the team looks pretty darn set with the bench as well. Much more support.

Re: Lakers
Draymond is powerless to keep his hands and arms away from the face/head of the guy he defends. At least 3 times the slo-mo replay showed him hacking slapping dragging across the head/face, and was only what we could see in the 2h replays. I'm shocked that he hasn't been put in the ICU.

Re: Lakers
Reminds when he was with the Cavaliers but don't remember who the coach was. Just give the ball to LeBron. 4 out, and let LBJ ISO. The "roll the ball out" coaching strategy.
Probably when I finally lost interest in the NBA. Which started with the Lakers having only 2 people on offense, Kobe and Shaq. Everyone else just stand out of the way.
I sure miss Showtime. And hard to admit it now, the Celtics then.

Tyronn Lue. LeBron loves nothing more than having a coach he can tell what to do, which is obviously why he wants JJ.
If the Lakers are actually serious about Hurley I have to assume that they don't give two shits about what LeBron thinks since they probably expect him to be gone anyways.

As long as LeBron is a Laker the Laker coach is just a prop. Anyone with a patina of competence will do to fill the role of human shield, figurehead, scapegoat, grist, sideline warm-up band.
