Adkins is in his first year as Arizona's tight end coach and passing game coordinator. He is one of the youngest coaches on the staff, but the fact that he was named passing game coordinator shows how much faith Coach Brennan has in him.
Adkins is a 3rd generation football coach. His dad was head coach at Humbodt State from 2000-2007 and his grandfather is the winningest coach in Central Washington University history and a member of the Washington State Football Coaches Hall of Fame. Adkins was a QB in college at both Shasta College and Southern Oregon and graduated in 2012. San Jose State was his first D1 coaching job and he has been their tight end coach since 2019.
We have the largest group of tight ends I have ever seen at Arizona, and we should expect to see a lot of 2 tight end sets and an expanded tight end passing game.
T-Mac's best receiving game last year was against the scum where he caught for 266 yards.
