I do though wonder if Babers was forced on him? Seeing his personality I can see where he would probably clap and say let’s go so in essence it’s on him if so.

I do see the tweets by former players trying to rally support as encouraging. They know ball better then any of us so we can only hope they are right.

I do believe certain journalistic people really got bent out of shape about their access and used the poor play to pile on. While not wrong in their critique of the team, they got personal and now I really think it will be extra difficult for him to find success.

I am not a fan of DRF so far but it seems like she recognizes the road blocks that might have been put in front of DRF. She seems to be giving him support in the areas he needs help in and for that, I applaud her.
Do you truly believe that the football alums are saying these things because they believe it or do you think they’re saying these things to support the athletic department because they’re being asked to? We can say a lot about DRF, but one thing she isn’t is stupid. She knows some fans will eat up the words of Foles and Cecil and it’ll keep them buying tickets to games. This is a basic sales scheme.

Outrageous if we're expected to witness another year of this same staff continuing to fail.
At this point expect only Babers, Akina, and Gonzales gone.

If you feel that’s a waste of time, you’re right.

It feels like DRF thinks we're stupid if she thinks we're going to buy tickets just because star alum say to give CBB a chance.

Next year is going to be shit and we all know it. If people want to buy tickets knowing that, that's their business, but don't shove Nick Foles and Chuck Cecil in my face telling me lies about what a great job CBB will do just because he's a good person.

Believe me there are a lot of stupid people in this fanbase that’ll eat that shit up and buy everything Foles and Cecil is saying. I’m not just talking bad about our fanbase, because those type of fans exist in every fanbase and every AD knows it. “Oh wow my hero believes this grossly incompetent coach who I watched with my two eyes fail isn’t actually grossly incompetent. He knows more than me, I gotta go buy tickets and support the team like he’s telling me to!”

Here's something to think about. In 2023 the UA ranked 50th in football attendance, even though we had a top 15 ranked football team (kind of shoots down the bullshit argument that the UA would get better attendance if we had a decent team). If the UA fans won't support the program and the top donors won't open their wallets the UA will likely never be successful in football.

2023 Attendance Numbers

# School 2023 attendance
1 Michigan 109,971
2 Penn State 108,409
3 Ohio State 103,792
4 Tennessee 101,915
5 Texas 101,625
6 LSU 100,742
7 Alabama 100,077
8 Texas A&M 99,234
9 Georgia 92,746
10 Florida 89,587
11 Auburn 88,043
12 Nebraska 86,802
13 Oklahoma 83,741
14 Clemson 81,334
15 Florida State 78,711
16 South Carolina 77,833
17 Notre Dame 77,622
18 Wisconsin 75,391
19 Michigan State 70,211
20 Iowa 69,250

you realize every stadium is a different size right?

If those numbers are true (I doubt we actually averaged that much) that means we were at 94% capacity every game. Pretty damn impressive turnout for a team that only won 1 game just 2 years prior. But that doesn’t fit the narrative?

We averaged the same % capacity as #18 on the list Wisconsin.

You know why those stadiums have so much more capacity? Because people actually want to go to the games and actually show up. Also why has Arizona Stadium capacity gone down multiple times and dropped 14% since Stoops

How many of these other ones dropped 14% since Mike Stoops was on Arizona's sidelines?

Even though this is the dumbest poll ever it got me thinking....

Leis. It is a sign of respect and it speaks so well on two fronts to Brennan. One of which gives me great hope for the future.

1) It shows his respect for his players and their families.

2) It shows how much players love him and trust him. Even with the crappy year, TMac and Noah clearly love and trust Brennan enough that their families would still make the leis for Brennan every week. Think this will really help for the future once we get the staff locked up

You know why those stadiums have so much more capacity?

They consistently field better teams that are fun to watch and have throughout their history.

why has Arizona Stadium capacity gone down multiple times and dropped 14% since Stoops

A 7 sec good search says
"College football attendance has been declining over the past decade, with the average number of fans per game dropping below 40,000:
2008: The all-time high for average attendance was 46,971 fans per game
2013: Attendance began to decline every year
2021: Attendance was down 15% from 2008, with an average of 39,848 fans per game "

So literally every team has experienced some sort of decline according to google. Its up to them to shrink their stadium or not.

Fans show up for good teams. Pretty basic stuff. We filled the stadium when the cats were good in 2023, only 2 years after watching some of the worst teams ever. Pretty remarkable, we should be proud of our fans.

No one is going to watch boring, undisciplined team. Next years gonna be BRUTAL.

I really don't care which side of the lei fence you fall on it is such a non issue when there's are so many real and valid concerns about coaching and the future of our team.

Who fucking cares, it's a necklace that a player's family member made for him to wear and he's wearing it because that's the polite and respectful thing to do.

If we were winning no one would give one single shit about a necklace. It shouldn't be any different if we suck.

My only issue with the lei is: What about the other players who want Brennan to represent something from their culture?

Any Bavarian players on the team?

Again, who gives a fuck? If a Bavarian was a great player and his family made some of those leather shorts for him to wear during game, who cares?

The families and players love coach

Idk about a 30k game but their second to last game of the year they had an attendance of 46k…..in a stadium that holds 82,000. Only a season ago they were undefeated and sold out. People don’t want to watch a bad product.

Uofa has regularly fielded a bad product, thus lack of attendance.

Google says there were 46k in our stadium that holds 50. So who is lying?

Even if you were right and “no one showed up”, anyone with eyes could see this team was doomed. We struggled with nau, got trounced by k state and got extremely lucky Utah turned the ball over on downs 3 times in the red zone.

If we all were perfect fans like Machina we’d be undefeated since the 70s (or whenever he was birthed as the ultimate judge of everyone).
Of the 12 coaches, Rush picked the one whose fans have the deepest passion, the longest memories, the greatest lung capacity and … did I mention deep passion?

Funny UA is in Tucson with over a million people in the metro area and thousands come from Phoenix every game yet Arizona is one of the only power conference schools with shitty attendance consistently

Have Wildcat football teams ever performed better than mediocre? Including the 1998 season we have had 12 seasons at .500 or better. 12 out of 27 seasons.

Our total record in that time is 150-174. Sort of hard to build a fan base with consistently being inconsistent.

The other issue is that literally every time we have momentum something comes along to kick us in the nuts. Fisch bailing and having to emergency hire Guppie is an example. Rich Rod screwing around forcing us to fire him before getting a chance to coach Tate one final time. Hiring Mackovic and Sumlin. Gronkowski's back. The list goes on...

Stop shitting on the fans and start looking at the mismanagement and overall bad luck. Obviously Arizona fans will turn out if the product isn't boring and mediocre(look at BBall). Just like most other
take it or leave it fanbases we are fairweather as well. You have to build consistent culture and winning over time in order to achieve a Michigan, Ohio St, Alabama, etc type fan base full of diehards crazies who will call for a coach to be guillotined after losing 1 game.

The other issue is that our in state rival, which has historically also been a bit of a mess (although fielding slightly better teams than we are) looks like they've hit the lottery in terms of coaching.

Dillingham turned that team around and, unlike Fisch, is coaching at his alma mater and has zero desire to leave. He could be there for a very long time and certainly will win the recruiting war against the dumpster fire that is Arizona football.

Signing day. Did we pick up any surprises or lose any recruit?

Yes. How does a 6'7" 365 lb New Zealander sound to you?
We did lose Sean Robinson to Texas Tech the other day.
