That’s too many vowels for one person.

Nice offer list. NLIs are also no more.

https://tucson.com/sports/college/footb ... ca792.html

Arizona added to its overhaul of offensive linemen for the 2025 recruiting class during National Signing Day on Wednesday.

The Wildcats signed Bay Area offensive lineman Peter Langi, a 6-5, 330-pounder from Archbishop Riordan High School in San Francisco. Archbishop Riordan offensive lineman Losipini Tupou signed with Arizona in December.

Langi's younger brother, offensive lineman Michael Langi, is committed to Arizona's 2026 recruiting class.

The older Langi signed with the Washington Huskies and former Arizona head coach Jedd Fisch in December, but was granted release from his national letter of intent. Langi also held offers from Alabama, Texas A&M, Auburn, Florida State, Florida, Colorado, LSU, Penn State, Texas and USC, among several others.

Langi is the 11th scholarship newcomer on the offensive line for Arizona. Between the transfer portal and the 2025 recruiting class, Arizona's offensive line added a combined 3,641 pounds this offseason.

And in the new NCAA world, keep them. Might be easier with this player since he younger brother also wants to play for Arizona.

I'd be hard pressed to recruit the big uglies out of high school since they really don't contribute as true freshmen, and if you invest years in them bulking them up they might just turn around and leave.

The young Langi is 6'5" and 330lbs. He doesn't need to bulk up. He probably needs to hit the weight room and get him stronger and he needs to learn the blocking schemes and techniques. I maintain OL is the hardest position to learn and master and we need to get them early to learn our system.

I've been around high school athletes most of my life.

In general, compared to other sized guys, bigger guys have a smaller percentage of good athletes. That is to say, a higher percentage of big guys seem to be of low athletic ability. Probably this is why it's so hard to find good linemen.

Coaches really should be looking at successful upper weight wrestlers for these positions.

I have not been around athletes on a personal level, but always thought that shot putters might make pretty good linemen. Leg and upper body strength.

When I was a working man at a FCS university, had my office next to the football offices. Really tiny players compared to what I used to see around the UA campus.

Think this guy could toss them away pretty easily.

The Cats had Gerhardt de Beer a few years ago.

I met him because Glenn Parker had him working with my son’s team as his assistant line coach.

He was a big dude and strong AF.

John Madden said when he wanted good athletic players, he looked for wrestlers.

Lineman and linebackers should all wrestle. Receivers and DBs should play basketball and run track. Running backs should run track and/or wrestle.

Just what I think but for sure high achieving wrestlers all have one thing which alot of football players lack......heart.

Kayden Luke was a state championship wrestler. I imagine he received some wrestling scholarship offers.

I used to play racquetball with the retired Cal Poly wrestling coach on a regular basis. He used to play fullback for WSU, so there is certainly a connection between the sports. Cal Poly used to be an associate member of the PAC-12 since not enough PAC schools had wrestling programs. Looking it up, they still are.

I know of him. Went to his camp as a kid and have friends that wrestled for him.

He had a kid, Steve, who could sit on his butt on a matt, dig a heel in and do a lateral flip (granby) without touching the mat. Amazing.

Along that thread do you remember Curley Culp from Yuma Az. He was state heavyweight champion wrestler and played football for ASU and was also NCAA heavyweight wrestling champ. Had a long AFL and NFL football career.

I remember his dad. Set or tied an UA record for the longest field goal at the time, 57 yards.

Didn’t Udub have a disaster of a kicker last year?
